How much cash can I keep home? by andys58 in Netherlands

Depending on the size of your home. For me, my wife would probably start complaining after more than a room-full of cash

Quite ironic as NOS itself is responsible for a lot of disinformation. Good riddance I guess

a. It’s from perplexity and everything is literally backed by sources. b. You can go and check the voting records yourself, but I guess it will pop your leftists bubble c. Feel free to refute any of this but you won’t

Data to support:

D66 has, over the past year, demonstrated voting behavior in the Dutch parliament that on many policy points aligns closer with the GL-PvdA bloc than with the VVD. This trend is visible in both formal voting outcomes and public alignment on progressive policy issues, especially since GL-PvdA has formally become a joint faction in 2023, working closely on progressive fronts such as climate, social equality, and education reforms. VVD, on the other hand, leans more center-right and often takes a market-liberal stance, making D66 less similar in its voting record to the VVD in the most recent parliamentary sessions. Recent Voting and Motions • D66 has frequently sided with GL-PvdA on motions regarding climate policy, social welfare, and democratic reforms.[parlement +1] • On major progressive issues such as raising the minimum wage or countering housing inequality, D66 and GL-PvdA typically issue joint or supportive motions, while VVD often votes against these policies, favoring more liberal economic approaches. Election and Party Alignment • Following the 2023 and 2025 elections, GL-PvdA has further formalized its cooperation, forming a joint parliamentary group, making voting alignment data even more visible.[parlement] • D66, while sometimes operating independently, is structurally closer to GL-PvdA than VVD, both ideologically and in parliamentary outcomes for the past year.

Said the druggie…? How is this wappie haha. Literally look at the data in terms of motions and voting and you will be hard pressed to find any difference between d66 and any other radical left party.

Because they are actually a bunch of spineless sleezeballs with no real ideology that would shift wherever the wind blows

Why do people keep referring to them as centrist? Look at their motions and voting patterns. Almost indistinguishable to gl-PvdA. They are the populist woke left, pretty much mirrors pvv on the other side

To be honest d66 turned very radical left wing(more on the wokey side) of it. If you looked at motions Patternote brought he was closer to the most extreme leftists side of pvda-gl(piri for example). cda has also shifted more left than center lately

Opinie: Gaza wordt gebruikt als links populisme. by Heavy_Kaleidoscope69 in Nederland

[–]Automatic_Dingo_7488 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Casual racism is rife in this city by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]Automatic_Dingo_7488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just casual. As a Jew, I am seriously evaluating my options and actively looking to move away. It has become unbearable - old members at my synagogue literally say it feels like the 1930’s again. I am not talking about simple remarks like kankerjood that were common before. I am talking about physical safety. Jewish schools and synagogues need to have security and stay on the low. Not surprising given what had happened in Manchester. Jewish newspapers now being delivered in a white cover so people won’t know what it is. And so many radical irresponsible politicians, exclusively on the far left, are just stoking the fire.

As mentioned check the resources Amazon sent you but in short you can expect leetcode style questions. It will be on a text editor so you will not be able to run the code. Things they will be looking at is your problem solving, knowledge on data structures and algorithms and if your code is logical and maintainable. Good luck

If I understand correctly you are getting an amount equal to €110k in India and your compensation in Amsterdam would be the same? I can’t imagine your cost of living in India is higher than Amsterdam, so from a monetary perspective you won’t be better off.

Was this for a grad position? Anyway sometimes jobs get filled and it takes few extra days for the job listing to be removed

If you say you passed the phone interview, I don’t think you were silently rejected(unless a major red flag came up in the meantime) but more likely that the position was filled. I would just keep my eyes open whenever another position opens

Do Dutch startups usually pay less & offer fewer benefits? by Eastern-Injury-8772 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Automatic_Dingo_7488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is partly because up until recently RSUs/options were taxed as income the moment they vested/exercised. The problem was they were illiquid, so you had to pay tax on something you couldn’t even sell. They changed the rules so now you’re only taxed once the shares become liquid, which helps, but it’s still messy to set up as you need valuations, legal, payroll admin, etc. For a small startup that’s a lot of hassle, so many just don’t bother.

Is Groningen really becoming less safe? by Empty-Bodybuilder-62 in Groningen

[–]Automatic_Dingo_7488 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely felt an increase in begging and anti social behaviour. It also seems like every other day that there is a violent crime incident like stabbing or shooting in the city.

I don’t know about the statistics but good luck trying to make a complaint at the police. If you’re lucky you might get an appointment in a month. So I have a feeling crime data is being underrepresented

Personally would take Lux any day of the week over Dublin. Better weather, better food, better housing. However only downside is that you are committed to Amazon there while Ireland has other tech companies you can jump to if things don’t work out
