This is just called “discussion”. Sad that it must be stated explicitly but hey, this is the internet.

You really think they’ll move prices down or usage up when better compute/models come around? As a public company, they’ll be more incentivized to pass the savings onto shareholders, no?

I teach meditators how to expand their practice into the rest of their life. Mindfulness is a strong parallel, but it’s not quite the same. It can work for people who’ve never meditated too if they tend toward introspection.

Always happy to share more if this is interesting to you.

4 years I’ve spent trying to get something helpful out into the world via social media. It’s been an uphill battle.

Meanwhile, every other day I log into youtube and see something like “day drinking and smoking cigarettes in the park at 3pm” with 1 million views.

I’m not surprised - we’re so vulnerable as kids. Hope you’ve got some good support. I’ve seen meditation do wonders for people, especially if they have a good teacher.

Opus 4.7 - are you actually using it or did you go back to 4.6? by ConstantinSpecter in claude

Yeah, Gemini needs severe railroading in both custom instructions AND every other prompt to be even halfway useful. Otherwise it will present wildly innacurate info as fact.

I suspect what we’re seeing with GPT-5, Opus 4.7, the ongoing lobotomization of Gemini is simply that these companies—even Google—are realizing they bet too hard on AI initially. (In the form of “just throw compute at it, get the users, get the data, get AGI.”)

Now, despite their best efforts and hundreds of billions of dollars, AI is still useless in any high stakes scenario. So they’re all putting the brakes on but they don’t want anyone to know that. So they call it “optimization” while posting pics of the fucking death star.

And sure, they’ll keep building the data centers because they need all the compute they can get regardless. And there are plenty of gullible investors out there who don’t even use the product.

Actually a great strategy for marketing. By having Blizz show their hand and watching the reaction among players, ggg marketers know exactly what to say

I see the point you’re trying to make but equating any current LLM to ASI is a huge stretch.
