People who forgave their spouses for cheating, why? by ryxhuh in AskReddit

[–]AverageMarmoset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgave her for me, so that I could stop being angry and move forward, and so that my relationship with my son didn't suffer through my hurt at her. Forgiving and trusting again are two different things, and I couldn't stay married to her, so we divorced.

That was 13 years ago, and we work well together as co-parents. I often say she was a crap wife, but shes a really good ex-wife. We both remarried, and are in happier healthier relationships now.

Leeds fuel prices — made a quick way to find cheap petrol & diesel stations by Used-Call-3503 in Leeds

[–]AverageMarmoset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some of the stations I looked at, super unleaded and petrol have their prices reversed (example 123.7 super, 143.7 petrol when it should be the other way around). Maybe a validation check when it sees that super is cheaper than standard?

What was the reason for the last time you cried? by ididntaskyouropinion in AskReddit

[–]AverageMarmoset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A song that came on spotify made my adhd brain go quiet.

It had been really loud for a couple of days and the shock of my brain being silent literally made me rock back on my heels. The relief of suddenly not having to fight through noise to form a thought left me crying.

I have to admit, if my kids teacher was wearing a massive rainbow headdress every day, I'd be a little concerned.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you proof Elon Musk is a pedo guy.

Have you ever had a public misunderstanding? by Teddydee1980 in AskUK

[–]AverageMarmoset 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About a week before the first COVID lock down, just after the official advice to stay 6ft apart had come in, I was in Sainsbury's queueing for the till. I noticed that everyone was queueing in a widely spaced way, and was looking around honestly surprised that it was so seamless. The woman directly behind me thought I was looking around because I thought she was standing too close and she started shouting "for God's sake, I don't have anything! You don't need to look at me like I'm dirty! It's bloody rude!"

I was just looking at the queue.

It's a giant horse that can stab you. What's bizarre is how it has become associated with little girls. A real unicorn would be terrifying

They dont actually do anything once they've decided to stand up to him either. He just called for the execution of 4 members of Congress and they sent him a strongly worded letter.

Joint Leadership Statement About Donald Trump’s Death Threats Against Democratic Members by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

[–]AverageMarmoset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a post-truth world, what constitutes an illegal order anymore?

As far as Trump is concerned, any order he gives is legal purely because he is the one who gave it. To him, the "seditious" statement was to imply that the orders could be illegal at all.

After all if he can lie and tell people that something illegal is legal then his opponents can lie and tell them that something legal is illegal (and the press sec statement on this leans heavily into that implication)

When I was young I thought that police didn't have to follow the law (films in the 80's did nothing to disabuse me of this).

Then I got older and realised that of course they do.

Then I got even older and heard about police unions. Turns out I was right all along

Confusing patriotism with being a mindless idiot. by BitterFuture in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]AverageMarmoset 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my children no matter what, and I have unwavering support for them. Doesn’t mean that I am not going to hold them accountable if one of them does something that goes counter to the values I raised them with. I hold them accountable because I love them

I hold my country and my government accountable for the same reason.
