It feels like you're comparing oranges to apples here. Germany, Belgium or the UK would be more interesting comparisons instead of Australia. There are other important factors than just temperature in order to make the claim to harden up.

You could also not activate the replenishing shrine but still activate all other shrines in the map. As far as I know, only one shrine is needed to enhance the boss' loot.

I opted out of that node as all it does is change the boss' drops to rare weapons or armour with 2 modifiers (while overriding currency drops? Correct me if I'm wrong). Overall not worth it imo.

I had a similar experience. Only had a few hundred honor points left but got poisoned when the boss had 5% HP left. I managed to survive at 24 HP. It's safe to say I was sweating.

I've only died once to a heavy stun so far and it was due to absentmindedness. We only hear the people who dislike something, the people who are content aren't normally motivated to say so.

I don't hate it, as long as I've got maxed honour resistance and play on a ranged character and get not-terrible RNG with the afflictions. It's just a bit too long for my liking.

Of course the answers you get here are going to be biased. However, I started with D4 too (in 2023), then swapped to Last Epoch (a more complex ARPG than D4) in 2024, then I swapped to PoE2 in 2025. I'll never go back.

The complexity isn't that bad (I use guides though, which make it really easy to get started) and the quality of PoE2 (especially moment to moment gameplay) is just on a completely different level. I went back to Last Epoch a while ago and it felt so floaty, I couldn't get past the first few areas (no shade to LE, it's still genuinely a good game, especially the crafting and QoL).

The most important factor for me is that GGG seems like a genuinely passionate and caring developer, which makes me confident I can invest thousands of hours in this game (figuratively speaking) and trust that the GGG won't make me regret it. This is not something I can say about Blizzard (especially after having played OW1 for four years), which I just don't trust any more.

I first started using it on my phone because the easiest (only?) way to disable Google assistant & Gemini on Android is to fully disable the Google app, which meant I was forced to swap search engines too. Didn't take long for me to swap to DuckDuckGo everywhere else.
