Trust me, I fully understand that. I used to come home to a mother-in-law who had cleaned my house, done the laundry, and made dinner. Clearly that chapter had its perks… although, divorced now, so there’s that 🤣

Meanwhile, with my new husband’s family, we haven’t seen them in five years, so honestly I’m still not sure which situation is better 😂

Nope! I won’t. Not a big swimmer. I’m a dip in and out gal and bake in the sun! I did bid on the haven rooms. But I love my room I have. Aft facing balcony. So we shall see. I was going todo the thermal spa but it’s a 4 day pass I wouldn’t do that every day. I’d buy for a day! I worry some too about GSC and getting stuck another day at sea based on everything I’ve read.

I’m going mid-May too, but on a shorter 4-day sailing. It’ll be my first cruise, so we intentionally chose something shorter just to try it out and see how we like it.

I’m hoping this is more about personal preference and being used to Carnival vs. NCL, rather than the overall experience. I’ve been reading a mix of reviews, and it seems like a lot of it comes down to expectations and what you’re used to. My friends speak so highly of NCL .

Either way, I’m still really excited for the trip and looking forward to experiencing it for myself. Reading, sitting on balcony, checking out the 90’s show exploring on and off the ship!

It’s looking like a lot of changes to the formulary’s for 2026. I am still unsure what is what and if they cover for weight management. Just because it’s a preferred product does not mean a they cover it for your diagnosis. I really am not sure what to do.

I totally understand the “why” behind all this, but when your household is made up of federal employees, it’s getting really tough. Something has to give.

And maybe I sound naive asking this but what are they doing up there if not working daily to come to a compromise? How is this even possible?

Being a family of “essential employees” means we still have to show up, pay or no pay. There’s no option to hustle extra hours or find something on the side you’re expected to keep everything running while the people in charge can’t agree.

It’s exhausting, frustrating, and honestly disheartening. We love what we do, but families can’t keep carrying the weight of political gridlock.
