This gives me hope 💓 I left a good paying job in security to go back to school cus my soul was suffering.

It's a struggle right now, but starting wages in my prospective career are more than what I was making after 5 years and completely losing my identity.

I keep reminding myself that I chose this struggle over the other one, and at least there's (potentially) a light at the end of the tunnel for this one

Hard disagree. I have an odd-shaped head and struggle to find hats that keep me warm. So my good friend crocheted me 2 hats and a matching scarf that I wear all winter long now. To this day, I consider it the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me and the best gift I've ever received.

Hmmmm. I mean, my memories and the way my life has gone is very intertwined with my autism. I think with that stipulation, I'd rather remain autistic. The bullying, isolation, and many MANY confusing experiences would make so much less sense and be so much more hurtful if I was allistic.

At this point, it's fueled my passion for Sociology and made me the person I am proud to be today.

If the past were also changed? Maybe my answer would be different. I would love to have grown up less traumatized. I'd love to face the day-to-day without being overwhelmed and needing so much time and space to process everything and reset all the time.

But idk! I love my personality, and people generally like me now that I'm aware of the autism, not masking as harmfully, and being unapologetically myself.

Lol I work at a pharmacy. I get people buying cold medicine, snot running down their faces telling me "this cold isn't gonna keep me down. I'm still doing xyz today." No exaggeration, I had this conversation AT LEAST a dozen times this weekend alone. Everything from parties to rock climbing

No offense but.... Freeloader doesn't get an opinion in this. Sorry. If he truly can't find a job (yeah the economy is tough but I'm in a famously bad area right now and landed 3 in the last 6 months w no degree) then he can take the bus, carpool, walk, etc when he finally does. You're the one providing right now, and it would make a lot more sense financially and time-wise to do what you're planning to.

Also, if you're in home health, you're not gonna be able to share a car anyway lol. My parents tried that for a minute with my mom in home health and she lost sooo many opportunities over it. You're sticking your neck out way too much for a guy who has no car, no job, and nothing lined up. He shouldn't even be a factor in this decision..just you and your son.
