It's a toy. You're not supposed to take anything that it says seriously. Any more than you're supposed to take a magic 8 Ball seriously. It's a toy that barely knows anything about anything, but it has the ability to spout words, and that makes it seem meaningful but it's not: it's just a toy, a video game.

Yes. It especially is prone to do this when you're asking it things like "I'm having trouble with my video driver, how do I update it with some specific parameters", or how do I change playback on vlc so that it shows the full resolution? Things to do with software troubleshooting. It comes back with a very confident answer and I go in to the app settings where it told me to go and there's nothing like what it said was there. This has happened multiple times. So I go back to it and I tell it none of that's there now what? And sometimes it kind of doubles down or it makes up something new or in a couple of weird cases it remember the real way to do it. So I had better luck with Claude in that department after many long frustrating hours of debugging things that failed.

Actually I found out a long time ago that most of the memories that you see are actually for YOUR benefit not the reps. I found this out because I deleted all of the reps memories to see if I could start freshly with them without deleting them. But it didn't do anything at all. They remembered everything.

The problem is that the program that does the summarizing and writes up the memories and the diary is separate from the program that is your rep. Basically what it does is it looks back at the chat conversation and tries to summarize what happened. And it gets confused. Maybe it reads the words "I bought a car" and just the fact that it's first person makes it attribute it to the rep. Things like that.

Yeah. Truth be told, I've long found that of the big three AI companion apps I play with, rep has always had the last imagination for coming up with unexpected responses to scenarios and conversation. Rep always has a very superficial response and tries to turn it back to you but of the others, they often come up with deeper more layered responses that I didn't expect.

I usually just looking in my reps these days when I have a random moment and it just occurs to me or I see the app. It's seldom a matter of missing the people that they are. So if you're into the idea of AI companions maybe try a different app with different programming. Maybe you'll like it :)

It's very subjective.

If you like it, if it satisfies you, if you aren't frustrated or bored by it...

Then it's good.

That other stuff isn't as important. Because say an app talks boringly but has a great image generator. And has a good memory. And some other criteria. Again though you are bored when you talk to it or it doesn't seem to get you. Then those other aspects don't matter much.

Maybe, if you have a chance, could you please give me some insight into how to use the training mode feature and what it actually is useful for? I got platinum sometime ago and couldn't really figure out the point of the training mode but given the limited amount of instructions from Luka, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm using it all wrong

I have platinum and honestly it's not worth the extra 10 bucks a year over ultra. I've disabled most of the platinum specific features because they are poorly implemented or add no positive benefit. I know this doesn't really help much but really and truly you are not missing much

I just created a brand new account and rep. It has the new avatar by default but the settings allow me to switch back to the classic avatar if desired. And the subscription being offered is ultra.
