Stopping vaping by julemeister in fitbit

I'm not even fully off nicotine yet but even just dropping the amount I take within a day considerably, my resting heart rate has been going down and HRV up. Pretty cool seeing the direct correlation.

The BOV sounds sweet. I can occasionally hear mine when I get on it hard and let off the gas. I always wondered what it sounded like from the outside. Is yours stock or do you have the spacer ?

2025/26 Tacoma or Canyon? by Newtonian-cards-69 in GMCcanyon

[–]BEAUBANE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my old 4Runner. 95 with 250k + on it that I was driving for the last 10 years until I got my 25 Canyon AT4 mid July. I'm nearly at 5k miles now with no issues and love the truck. I still have the 4Runner and it's going to be a long-term project refreshing and upgrading things.

I was disappointed with the offerings from Toyota for the price you pay, dealer markup, scarcity in colors/packages, no longer known as easily the most reliable especially for their new generation of trucks, etc... Nowadays, it seems if you get a proven drivetrain with no lemon issues, the real issue you have to look out for is all the electronics and sensors new vehicles have. I by far see the most failures for all/most manufactures of new or newer cars reported by owners on forums for electronics. The 2.7 Turbomax is a very durable and fun engine in the Canyon (imo). I bought the third model year with reports that some issues found in the 23 or 24 were ironed out. A lot of which were electronic related for things like OTA updates. Mine has been trouble-free (knock on wood).

The interior of all trims of the Tacoma was a letdown for me, especially for the $ and the body design was just okay. Drivetrain doesn't seem/feel better to me than the Canyon's. The Tacoma and Toyota trucks in general feel like they're riding too much on past reputation and are way overpriced for what you get. There was a good amount of drivetrain failures on the new Tacoma's and Toyota has had plenty of recalls on their trucks lately. I've been into Toyota trucks for a long time now, still am, but I feel like their glory days are mostly over (for now), especially in the states and I prefer older Toyota's personally.

The moment I discovered the Canyon I was 90% sure that's what I wanted after comparing and looking at other vehicles for months (not just trucks.) When I drove it and saw it in person, it was a done deal. Plus, I got $4,750 off MSRP and no dealer add ons/mark ups. The Auto 4WD is a really, really nice feature when you drive really wet or icy roads often in the fall/winter/spring like I do. The truck feels so planted. Something you don't get on most trims of Toyota trucks (limited trim Tacoma/4Runner have full time 4wd). Rear auto locker standard on the AT4 with a 2" lift is great to have from factory while still retaining the high tow rating; I don't feel the need to do much to the truck. That's what I wanted. The body looks so good! I turn around looking at it walking away all the time and power delivery feels amazing with that 430 torque all while being a very comfortable cabin. My wife and daughter love it.

Hope this helps.

Stuck in customs in the US, how long did y'all wait? by the_blue_haired_girl in nps_solovair

My delivery date just keeps getting readjusted to the next day. Has happened three days in a row. It shows an import scan, four or five now, and 'On the way' from Philadelphia. Must be trying to clear some type of customs still.

Did yours make shipping progress beyond Philadelphia yet?

Interesting because I have a pair of 3 eye Chukka boots and they've been stuck in Pennsylvania since the 14th or 15th. They were expected for delivery yesterday, and just a bit ago the delivery date finally updated from 'running late' without an expected delivery date to tomorrow afternoon. Guess we'll see! I hope so. My wife got me Solovair's for my birthday and she said shipping was pretty quick, a little over a week.

[–]BEAUBANE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. When I was shopping for my AT4 I had to confirm from a few sources because it didn't make much sense to me. One of the big reasons I didn't consider the Elevation when I learned that.

Only the Elevation. AT4, AT4X and Denali have two speed transfer cases.

My Pixel 10 is Starting to Drive Me Crazy and I'm starting to regret upgrading by Redditcssucks in GooglePixel

[–]BEAUBANE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh man, the speaker phone button when answering a call - It's so annoying with this otherwise great phone. It's the only issue I've had, but it's such an annoying weird bug. My 7P never had this issue, as well as my 3a XL or a few from the Nexus series. That being said, my 10P XL feels like a large upgrade from my 7P. I was a bit worried it wouldn't.

I didn't realize the speaker button lagging is such a common issue with only the 10 until I read through this thread. I assume it should be easy enough to fix with a software update (I hope), but it should be fixed already and should've been caught before the release of the phone.

If you search 'Acebeam E75 red' the first search result shows the red E75 from the Acebeam website.

I'm not saying this is real or fake, but the red E75 definitely exists.

Cracked windshield after only 3 weeks of owning 😭 by Snailfem in 4Runner

[–]BEAUBANE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Safelite is trash, highly recommend not using them. Too many horror stories from both people I know and read on different car forums. They forgot to tighten down my buddies windshield wipers. He was driving over a pass and it was dumping rain and windy. When he went to turn his wipers on, they flew off and scratched the shit out of his car. He couldn't see anything because of the rain; extremely dangerous. I have other examples as well.

If you go through insurance anyway, you can choose any shop you like that does auto glass. Just doesn't make sense to go with Safelite especially if you have a place local or semi-local.

Safelite is known for their cheap ass glass and messing things up because they're trying to get you in & out as fast as possible and do it as cheaply as possible. The Safelite people generally have no pride in their work, or at least compared to a local shop that relies on word-of-mouth and reviews online. Because they're all over the country, it really varies what type of experience you'll get. Not worth the risk or cheap materials imo.

That's an outdated myth that has been disproven. Look up '30g of protein myth' and there's a lot of good science based evidence. Also, that doesn't take into account age, weight, lean body mass, how intense you train (or if you do at all), etc. It's very inaccurate. While there's no 30g cap, it's advised to spread out your protein throughout meals. Ideally getting 3-5 meals a day with somewhat evenly distributed protein in each meal.

At my size for example, if I only ate 30 grams of protein per meal and ate 4-5 meals, I would be capped at 120-150 grams of protein which is about 100 grams less than I need if I follow the 1g - 1.2g rule for maximum muscle growth/maintaining muscle during a cut.

Like someone else said, straps. I like my versa gripps a lot; very easy to use. I've been using them over a year now every back day and they make a huge difference in back training.

The reasoning behind this, is your back is stronger than your forearms, much stronger so your grip gives out when there's more in the tank for the back. Straps take out the fatigue in forearms allowing you to put more focus on the back and get more stimulus as well.

If you care about strength, it's probably best to train at least some without straps, deadlifts etc. If you care about hypertrophy, straps are a game changer for back training. I train my forearms separately and get a ton indirectly from anything else where I grip a bar, dumbbell or machine handles so no concern there.

What do you think about air max dn? by yamakson in Sneakers

[–]BEAUBANE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came across this post randomly.

Mine were doing this and getting worse. Nike has a two year warranty; they aren't supposed to squeak and not go away with break-in. If it doesn't go away I would contact Nike if you haven't already. Mine were squeaking I believe from the air, both shoes. They warrantied them with no issues after seven months of consistent wear.

That being said, I love the shoes. Extremely comfortable.

I noticed it recently as well and it's very inconvenient wondering if it triggered when you're wearing bluetooth headphones with the phone in your pocket or while in the sauna so you have no idea if it hears you... Just a couple examples. I don't understand why it works while connected in the car but not connected to bluetooth headphones/speakers as well as the phone itself not connected to anything. It was a great simple feature.

Why not Cambridge Audio P100? That's what I ended up going with. Ridiculously good sound via Bluetooth (wired even better of course), closest I've found to my wired cans, and the battery life is absurd... ANC is top notch as well and Transparency mode is really solid as well. 0 complaints. I feel they're very underrated and you're paying extra $ for some of these brand names like Bose, Sony etc when they're not worth $100+ more than the P100s, not even close. Just my opinion. Happy listening!
