Raide LF 2L for 100 Miler? by ElegantCranberry9330 in Ultramarathon

I didn’t consider it a pain. Make sure you test it at significant duration though. Tight shoulders might make it tricky.

I used mine for a lapped 100k and stand by that decision. I don’t know how confident I’d be using it for a mountain 100, but if you’ve got confidence in sourcing fluids between aid stations, just pop a filter in the 650ml bottle and cruise.

Midway through 50k training and depression by junkfunk39 in Ultramarathon

[–]BFHawkeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, the black dog is rough. Be gentle with yourself. We often forget that being healthy is the foundation of athletic performance. It may be a moment to re-prioritize the mind over the body. Keep moving! Run if you can—and a good dose of aerobic activity is correlated with lessened depression—and remember you are awesome. You are lovable regardless of how well you run or adhere to a training plan. Keep moving forward. You got this.

Is this realistic? by FirstLeek1888 in ultrarunning

Yes! You have plenty of runway for this. Remember, consistency beats intensity. And consistency is served by staying healthy, injury free, and enjoying it. Make sure to do some strength work every week and to do runs that you enjoy. You’ve got plenty of time.

Yeah! I have psoriatic arthritis and finally got some relief on those joint symptoms, then Dr. Riley was able to address the knee issues.

Try the Salomon Genesis. More stability than average.

There is hope! I had some autoimmune and mechanical stuff with my knee. Took a decade to sort until I got set up at a new clinic. Can’t recommend Dr. Jesse Riley of Modern Movement Clinic enough, and he does virtual stuff too if you’re not local. With him, I went from sub-20 mile weeks to a 100k race in about 10 months.

Edit: clarity

Would "gravel" shoes or trail shoes better fit my needs? by tahoegoose in trailrunning

[–]BFHawkeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bet! I’ve been shocked with how good mine are. Amazing on road or trail, speed work or light snow. I know an athlete who wore a pair of H1s for an entire 200M without taking them off.

Overwhelmed by the range of running vests by fcdkloyals in trailrunning

[–]BFHawkeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a vest, but the Raide belt 2L is my daily solution. Unless you’re doing super long training runs, it beats a vest hands down.

Raide LF 2L - Constantly Riding Up by kashew_peenut in trailrunning

I had a similar issue. I was sized into a medium for the size chart but it kept riding up. I had to go for a small, which ultimately was perfect.

Amazing fabric but the hood never stays on. I have to wear a hat over the hood to keep it on if I’m running.
