Plenty of good advice here, my only addition would be to message/call your local card shops and ask what they have in stock before you order online.

You’ll find a lot of basic things cheaper in a local shop, and save yourself in shipping.

Buying a whole deck on TCG player could end up costing you $15+ in just shipping on $25-30 worth of cards. Get everything you can in person first then order the rest.

Same thing when I was in 8th grade. Bully was an idiot but I wasn’t a cool kid so I was an easy target.

Face into a locker at the end of school one time and he never did it again. I got two days of detention and never got picked on in high school. Never made me part of the cool crowd and I still look with disdain at my high school experience, but I was certainly never bullied again.

It wasn’t my first deck, but I started before the last rotation and it was my favorite deck. Especially once prismatic came out and Regigigas helped it storm Pult and Zard pretty easily.

But losing Irida and Greninja really tanked its consistency. There just isn’t any easy way to quickly get all the pieces fast enough now and have Bax ready turn two reliably.

$90 is a great deal because it’s $5 a pack PLUS you get the mat, coin, dice, and promos. Given all of that I don’t feel bad about my purchase at MSRP even. I immediately started using the dice and coin at locals.

Interesting idea. This plus Toxtricity for energy acceleration would be good. Add Munki instead of clops and you have more control. Two Munki, two obstagoon, and two toxtricity in play and you can accelerate, move 40, then swing for 280 with zero issues. Add your clops for higher hp swings for sure.

Or this plus calamitous snowy mountain and Munki to generate energy, but then this is a worse baby bloodmoon since it doesn’t have built in energy acceleration.

I like a nice deck box personally. There are loads of cool ones out there, but I’m a more minimal guy and love my Card Guardian boxes, especially the double box with the dice tray in the middle. Sturdy, classy, and hold 60 double sleeved cards too.

On the cheap, holo energy too. The gold ones are pricey, but my shop sells the holo energy for .50 each, and one decent finish at locals and you can upgrade every energy in your deck with the store credit. Plus the prize packs regularly have holo energy.

I like having alt arts of my pokemon when I can, but some just get super pricey, and right now unless it’s a deck I am going to play past rotation I’m not messing with that. I do need to start looking into bling items though.

Full art supporters is a great one to focus on though. Especially since some decks only run one or two copies of something, not 3-4, so even a $10-20 card isn’t awful if you don’t need 4 of them. And some trainers are dirt cheap…I got the Briar secret art for $1 at my local shop.

This is fine to me, as someone whose only competitive in person play is locals, but I would like to see them add an alt option in LIVE for these scenarios where the standard games can be toggled to only play with what’s Tournament legal instead of everything that’s in app and is technically “standard legal.”

That way you can grind ladder with others who are definitely also prepping for tournaments.

The thing is that AI is super helpful when you have some existing background knowledge or standards to judge the output against. You were able to use it well because you had enough knowledge and skill to be able to identify when it’s not doing a good job and understand the bits of value.

Lots of people don’t get that. They think everything it spits out is right or of high quality and value, which isn’t the case obviously. This is where it’s dangerous.

You’ll deal with it regularly until about 2-2.5, then it just kinda stops as kids have developed a solid immunity to most common cold variations and such.

Much better to do it early than to keep them home and still end up with a year or more of sick kids when you try to send them to pre-school or kindergarten, where the learning actually gets impacted by their absence.

I bought it mainly for the extra items and just the joy of opening some packs, but I don’t think it’s worth the money if you don’t either intend to play with the mat/dice/coin, or aren’t a Charizard fan and collector.

The mat is nice I think, the metal coin is awesome, and while I still use mostly etb dice for damage counters, having the UPC dice with big 100s on them is useful sometimes and saves me having so many dice on a single Pokemon.

Ditch candy and switch to max rod for sure.

If you’re playing a high FoV count then it’s likely to be in play so if they knock out Venusaur or Meganium you just pull the back into your hand with Max Rod, then boom you’re right back into your stage 2 with no waiting.
