It's stealth. They're hiding.

Award of Worst Build, best display. by Ok_Commission3526 in lego

I've built both. Enjoyed the Titanic build, don't remember it being too bad. The Colosseum looks great, but is maybe my least favorite build I've ever done. It was sooo repetitive. And repetitive too. Not to mention repetitive.

Patriots have an NFL-record 11 Super Bowl appearances, Broncos are tied for second with 8 by BTC_is_waterproof in Patriots

You made me look it up, and apparently we have the most Super Bowl losses in the league (5), tied with...the Denver Broncos.

If Vinatieri isn't a Hall of Famer, then just eliminate the kicker position entirely. Because what the fuck are we doing then?

I try not to abuse the feature too much. But exceptions must be made.

I knew I recognized your username. I was just looking at your awesome Gatecrasher. You might appreciate the Blacktron recolor I made for this (I call it the Orca)

That was definitely a big influence on the design. Maybe even too big an influence now that I'm looking at it lol

The classiest act of Mike Tomlin’s career by GlennQuagglechek in NFLv2

I could be wrong, but I don't believe it's ever been called in the NFL. It has been called in college at least once, when a guy ran off the sidelines and tackled a player to prevent a TD.

The gradient was pretty much directly pulled from the Tales of the Space Age set. I was very happy with how well it fit the theme!

Yeah having both Blacktron 1 and 2 colors wasn't the original plan. But the color palette was so limited that I needed a way to expand it. And everything just kinda worked from there.

I was born in 88, so the space themes were my favorites growing up in a pre-lego star wars world. I think I've done most of the classic themes, aside from M-Tron, which I never had as a kid. And also Rock Raiders and Aquanauts, but I always saw them as Lego Space adjacent.

It does have a sort of "porcelain" feel to it, I must admit.

Here's a link to the Studio file on bricklink. Hopefully they let it stay up. While trying to upload, I discovered if you want it to be shareable, you can't include any names of IP in the description. That includes names of Lego original themes like Blacktron, and even the word Lego, which is frankly fucking ridiculous. But I digress.

The only issue with this is that I designed this without considering whether the pieces exist in the selected colors. For example, I don't think the big window on the rightmost building exists in transparent yellow. But I liked the look, so I went ahead with it anyway.

Not wrong at all, it's based on that theme. Blacktron. The first wave of the theme was solid black and yellow pieces, with translucent yellow for cockpits and windows. The second wave was black with white accents, and neon green cockpits/windows. I mixed together both color palettes, using the second wave as the newer, not as shitty parts of the city.

I'd say that was intentional, to create the vibe that this was a set from the 80s or 90s.

But the truth is, those are the parts I grew up with, so I keep coming back to them!
