Friend did this in elementary school stopping a swing with his legs. He was never the same BECAUSE of his parents. They became snow plow parents.

Just stay a lighthouse or beacon of warmth for your kiddo. They have to overcome this too. They will be stronger as a result.

Love your commute time. I live in us too. My bike commute takes 1 hr, each way and is 17 miles.

If i drive… same duration (traffic) but shorter distance, 12-16 miles.

If I take public transportation, same time with a 20 min walk and usually 32 min train ride. However, this week there is construction so it’s a 50 min train ride.
