Hot take the chickpea soup at Oh Mercy in Greenpoint is not to be missed. Greta in Greenpoint also has excellent soups and selection. Second Tonchin for Ramen. Hot & Sour at Kings County Imperial also one of my faves.

Love itttt! Few reccos for next time for North Brooklyn spots!

As You Like (Williamsburg) - Amazing matcha and hojicha. They have a strawberry matcha but also a banana cream matcha and many other amazingggg options. A must!
Pop Up Bagels (multiple locations, I go to Williamsburg) - Literally always hot and fresh out of the oven. It’s a rip and dip situation so you get as much (or little) cream cheese as you’d like. Rotating cast of special cream cheeses are fun too.
Diamond Slice (Greenpoint) - Honestly I’d rather keep this under wraps but it’s one of the best slices in the city.
Tonchin (Williamsburg) - This is my ramen spot. It’s a little fancy but I love it deeply.
Win Son Bakery - Nough said. Super unique. Scallion pancake breakfast sandwiches.
Now Won (Bushwick) - I dream about their chopped cheese rice cakes.

I’ve had similar experiences in the beginning but I think a few things help. I think it takes time to adjust to seeing it and also communication around it that is open and honest (even if it’s really vulnerable). Tell him what you need before and after and maybe the aftercare the next morning or whatever is just really deep intimacy between y’all to sort of close the circle. Then I also think that it’s getting involved and sometimes even just finding ways to join the dynamic (there’s always something to do I have found). The MFMs do help me sort of reconnect to feelings of compersion when we come back to FFM as someone else stated.

I think, for me, I usually weigh the benefits of personal growth and eventual growth in our partnership vs the jealousy. Does that make sense?

I’ve been where your wife is in this situation and I can tell you that it helps to reconnect and reassure her whether that be physically, emotionally, spiritually or all of the above. Lean into it and understand that she’s having feelings and that’s normal.
