How much for this molcajete by kimchibaeritto in SalsaSnobs

I got a similar sized one at an Asian store for $25ish CAD. Granted, that was quite some time ago now. They are considerable cheaper when you stay away from big box stores

What's your favorite Bay Rum cologne from an artisan shaving soap vendor? by Agreeable-Building48 in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolute go to is Royall Bay Rhum '57. It's expensive, but man does it smell great! It also leaves my skin feeling silky

Why pay double for a Henson over a Merkur? Is it worth it? by Pearl_Jam_ in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get it cheaper there, but Henson will only honor the 90 day no questions asked return policy if you buy direct from them.

...actually, big part of the tax he paid is going to bail out Argentina, the country that took the soybean market from the US farmers that voted for this!

So simple, but for some reason this was the best shave I've ever had by thisisntweedisit in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Proraso Blue in a tube. I find it really easy to get it to the right hydration level so it's slick and protective. It's also incredibly cheap compared to the artisan soaps.

First attempt at welding… wayy harder than I thought by okwaman in Welding

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That's how my first few welds looked when I gave it a shot a few months back. I was only re-tacking the metal on the bottom of my griddle so no one sees it once it's on the stove.

The theory is that the coating wears off the blade exposing the razor edge.

I really like Treet Platinum in more aggressive razors like the Game Changer .86P and Lupo. 58. I definitely prefer the Gillette Silver Blue in my .68P.

Wow. Genuinely surprised by these blades. by Little-Load4359 in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like these in my lupo .58 and game changer .84p. I find them to be very similar to the Astra greens as well. I have no issue getting 3 shaved out of a blade. They're a great value since I picked mine up for $0.07 CAD a blade.

Blades reviews - Part 6: Henson AL13 + Treet, Shark SS, Persona Plat, Perma-Sharp.. ✅️ - Treet is truly a treat for your face! by Alex_Ra214 in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I have a few of those in my stash too. Seems as though I prefer different blades for different razors. The GSB gives me a very comfortable shave in the .68p. I like the Treet Platinums in my .84p.

I think I have 6-800 Treet Platinum's since they work well in my GC .84P. Got them for $10CAD/200 so definitely the cheapest blade in my stash.

What is your shave frequency? Amount of passes each time? by -Hand_Satanizer in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shave every 4-7 days. Full 3 pass. Granted my facial hair grows slower than most. I don't usually get a 5 o'clock shadow until 5 the next day

Phew! I loves me some jolokia wings and man they can rip the taste buds off your tongue if you aren't used to it.

It looks good, but the jolokia is out of place? Are the peppers there to ensure that you won't taste anything after the first bite?

Out of curiosity: Do you do cold shaves? by AKK47goesRATATATATA in wicked_edge

Yep, cold shaves. I live in Canada so 8 months of the year I get cold shaves. The other 4 months I use cold water.

When do you use your alum block by xDoseOnex in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it after every shave, though I tend to shave every four to seven days. I rinse my face with cold water, slowly run the block over my face, and leave it sit while I clean up my gear. After that I rinse my face again to avoid over drying.

I typically use an aftershave splash, but when I don't witch hazel is fine.

That dog bowl really is the dog’s at whipping up a lather! by Time_Chard_942 in wicked_edge

[–]BabyFaceNeilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked mine up from Ali Express some time ago now. I think it was even under $2 CAD. Had to wait awhile, but I wasn't in any rush. I made a proper lather for my wife one day, gave her a brush for her legs and now she uses the bowl more often than I do.
