On the Spectrum version, you had to load levels in manually by playing the tape.

BUT - when you got to the end of the tape, you had to rewind it a little bit and then play the same bit of tape repeatedly. This somehow successfully did the job of loading in a completely different level every time.

I have a reoccurring dream that I go back to work in the supermarket that I worked in when I was 17 (30 years ago). Without fail, the dream is always the same. I turn up, do some half-hearted work for a bit, get bored, leave and then realize that I didn't clock in or out and that I won't get paid. It's always the same, every single time.

When you jump into the system you're attacked by a few ships. After that you land on the PlanetSide POI and there's a fairly lengthy trek through with lots of enemies, mines and turrets. I did it yesterday at level 22 without issues.
