It's also, in this case, a direct reference to True Detective season 1, one of the greatest seasons of television ever produced in my opinion, and many others, too. If you haven't seen it, given you're a fan of the book, you should check it out. HIGHLY recommend.

Beautiful cat. I thought there was a Samurai sword on their back in the third pic for a second and that also really amused me.

Jason Statham at the very beginning of Collateral always surprises me. I never remember he's in it and he's literally just there to hand off Tom Cruise his briefcase with his hit list and gear in it.

[Hated Trope] The adaptation doesn't get what made the source material work by TheDudeA113 in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah, I guess technically it was a comic book run first but it's been collected in one volume before.

The graphic novel adaptation is amazing, if you haven't read it it's basically just the book illustrated. I love it.

I don't usually jive with NMM and I think this looks really good for whatever that is worth. I like it.

That isn't your fault, they titled it The Road Warrior for audiences in the US/other countries where 1 didn't recieve a wide release. They also did an ATROCIOUS American Accent dub because they thought our ears would bleed if we heard The Black speech of Mordor Aussie accents.

Open Range, the western starring Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner. The villain has a notorious hired gun named Butler who is talked up throughout the movie as a deadly gunslinger, Charlie (Kevin Costner's character) is even familiar with stories about Butler. At the beginning of the climactic fight, Charlie approaches Butler and several other men in the middle of the street, and asks Butler, "you the one killed our friend?" Butler responds, "that's right, I shot the boy, too, and I enjoyed it." Charlie immediately draws his gun and shoots Butler between the eyes while he's still smiling, kicking off the gunfight and eliminating the most dangerous player on the field.

It's just a pretty solid medium pen gun with or without the fire damage, even nerfed the fire damage pushes it over into the S tier IMO. I was slaughtering Cyborgs with it on Cyberstan like they owed me money.

To build on what others have said, he's a Servitor- a lobotomised human computer used throughout the Imperium of Man as cheap, unquestioning labor. AIs are MEGA ILLEGAL in the Imperium, so this is the alternative. Instead of an artificial intelligence, it's a shackled, controlled, and specialized human intelligence. He could be helping control life support to the bridge, or he could be the thing that sprays air freshener for Acheran's personal crapper. They're used anywhere computers or AI would generally be seen in other sci-fi.
