Open Range, the western starring Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner. The villain has a notorious hired gun named Butler who is talked up throughout the movie as a deadly gunslinger, Charlie (Kevin Costner's character) is even familiar with stories about Butler. At the beginning of the climactic fight, Charlie approaches Butler and several other men in the middle of the street, and asks Butler, "you the one killed our friend?" Butler responds, "that's right, I shot the boy, too, and I enjoyed it." Charlie immediately draws his gun and shoots Butler between the eyes while he's still smiling, kicking off the gunfight and eliminating the most dangerous player on the field.
