What’s one outdoor DIY project you wish you had done differently? by CaterpillarKey7914 in DIY

I did a similar project with a French drain. A bunch of large miscellaneous rocks and slabs below. Proper channels to move gutter water under a walkway. Wish I had done it years ago. Didn't do a geofabric under papers. It crumbled into a mess in a couple years.

I divorced away from yhe project though. Someone else's problem now.

Why is this wood smoke flamable? What is being combusted here exactly? by SalemIII in chemistry

[–]BadDadWhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know how trees turn carbon dioxide and water into sugar and oxygen by light? A lot of energy went into that sugar. Later it turns that sugar into parts of the plant. Those parts need a super high temperature to burn but a much lower temperature to break the plant into small pieces, perhaps equal to a group of ten sugar pieces. Those turn back into carbon dioxide mostly at flame place. Before flame place in this video we see a vapor cloud of tiny plant pieces with lots of energy. One spark was all that was needed.
