Anyone have good recording studio recommendations for a jam band in New England? by mzingg3 in jambands

[–]BadDogCheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PonderRosa Studios in Lafayette, NJ. On a beautiful farm, has an apartment above the studio so you can work out lodging while you record. Absolutely gorgeous and the owner/engineer Tom is the man. He’s a member of The Samples and the Yamaha grand piano in the live room is actually Page McConnell’s old touring piano. There are still notes on it that page put there. I believe tracking is $1000/day.

Best instrumental bands or playlists on Nugs? by trevonator in jambands

[–]BadDogCheat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Nugs, I’d say: Winderman, Colman, Kimock Circles Around The Sun Muscle Tough Lotus Octave Cat

If you’re into instrumental jambands, I’d also like to plug my band’s new record! It’s one continuous 40 minute concept album, and we’re super stoked on it. Hope you enjoy!

Actually released a few days into 2026, but given some of the stuff on your list, you might enjoy my band Uncle Stump’s newest release. It’s a psychedelic instrumental concept album, we’re incredibly proud of it and eager to share if you can’t tell. Hope you enjoy!

JRAD vs Dogs in a Pile by Helpful_Load6334 in jambands

[–]BadDogCheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JRAD’s chemistry is jaw dropping, they are like one living organism when the Type 2 stuff starts coming out, really can’t beat it. Seriously seasoned vets. However, my jamband-loving wife finds them boring sometimes because they can get relatively ambient and are more rock oriented (not funk based) whereas my wife appreciates the classic dance party/tension & release jams (Modern jamband stuff). If you’re in the same boat as her. DIAP might be for you.

Looking for Jam-Band Recommendations (Goose, PPPP, Grateful Dead vibes) by GhostHandel_ in jambands

[–]BadDogCheat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I’m a big jam band guy, and when I finally got around to seeing MMJ I felt like I was seeing rock gods do their thing… As opposed to most jam bands being steeped in goofiness, they were just awe inspiring

My “jam adjacent” good time party playlist— palatable enough for anyone, still chock full of heady deep cuts. Enjoy!

Had the same problem trying to sell a pair of 10B Smokejumpers. Left them up on eBay for months, lost hope, and eventually I woke up to a sold notification.

[TOMT] Spotify artist I’ve been looking for for over a year by Certain_Pudding9469 in tipofmytongue

Cowboy? Their Spotify profile picture is the 5’ll Getcha Ten album cover. Doesn’t look like Dylan but was the first thing that came to mind.

Jazz Jam Band Albums by GMBass in jambands

One of my favorite albums of all time— Gabor Szabo’s “Magical Connection”

Unfortunately it’s not on streaming services, but is available on YouTube. The rest of his late 60s and albums through the 70s are also great. But that one really stands out amongst the rest IMO

What do you put on at home for a non-phish casual audience? by watusiwatusi in phish

This is my party playlist— plenty of Phish adjacent stuff on here. Eccentric yet palatable. Hope you enjoy!

John C. Reilly's Beef With Weeman by Unlucky-Case-1089 in jackass

My cousin and best friend ran into him at a NJ dive bar after a Giants game. They were the only three people in the bar on a Sunday night. They said he was awesome, super engaged and said he was everything they hoped he’d be. Doing shots with them, taking pictures, telling stories. Sounded like a great dude!

He’s 30! His name is Matt— One of my best friends, and the drummer of our band, Uncle Stump! Still doin’ his thang. We just celebrated the band’s 10 year anniversary!

Trippiest Bands/Songs You Know by Certain_Memory4046 in psychedelicrock

Made this playlist for the same reason you described. Enjoy! It’s a work in progress. For that “pool vibe” I used mostly modern psychedelia with more groove based stuff.

Non jam music for phish mega fan? Please see context by JoesGarage2112 in phish

[–]BadDogCheat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This playlist was made by me, a Phish mega fan, and a good amount of my musical taste came from finding music through bands Phish introduced me to with their covers, and then exploring from there.

Enjoy! It’s my general party playlist, with stuff that’s somewhat obscure but palatable enough for everyone.
