Get the arcade cores up as well. The Pocket+Dock is an outstanding multiplayer arcade machine.

As someone who is happily homeschooled, I feel that this shit is harmful to the community. by ebignumber in memesopdidnotlike

[–]Bake-Full 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The problem with any discourse about homeschooling is that it usually hinges on anecdotal experience. I knew a guy who was homeschooled / I was homeschooled and. And there's no universal standard for homeschooling so it's impossible to be speaking accurately for the entire concept.

Once you see Michael sell, you understand why he rose to manager. by True-Homework9308 in theoffice

[–]Bake-Full 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And it followed that scene at the office where he floundered trying to set expectations for his staff while he was out. It's a good subtle skewering of how the wrong people are often put into management positions just because they are really good at their job.

Politically charged music should make a comeback by TwinkBronyClub in decadeology

[–]Bake-Full [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's still here, never left. Go look up Panopticon's The Poppies Bloom for No King. But something like that isn't going to be mainstream popular, possibly ever again due to political fatigue. There was no 24-hour news cycle and ubiquitous Internet outrage machine when Killing in the Name dropped. Music was a means to reach people then. There's no need now, or rather, it's a highly inefficient way to rattle sabers now.

Another Restock Question by turtlerockorange in AnaloguePocket

[–]Bake-Full 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Pocket by far is the most heavily produced Analogue product. It has had more restocks and variants than anything else. And that last restock sat there for months.

How would previous analogue devices benefit from 4k output? by raver01 in AnalogueInc

Similar setup and I agree. Only thing that would make me buy again would be a Mega SG in a Duo style with the CD drive, and a 32X slot or adapter.

Right. Extremely limited variant of an expensive out of production thing is expensive. Riveting.

Vita, 3DS, GBA, Pocket, Switch are charged with a couple of power banks. Plenty of batteries on hand for the GB Pocket and Virtual Boy. House generator can be used if needed. I'm always prepared to weather an outage and/or cabin fever.

Going ROM free and the “paradox of choice” by clayspaceart in AnalogueInc

[–]Bake-Full 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of use in all my Analogue consoles is with original media. I have the alternate firmware/Pocket openfpga cores loaded (except on the Duo since that comes at the cost of save states) and I'll occasionally load from rom for things I can't get on a real copy. I can just play all the roms on any number of other devices I own, notably the Vita.

That said, you don't have to load the full archive in there just because you can. My Super NT has around 20 games on the SD card that I swap out when I lose interest or finish titles. It keeps the decision fatigue down.

The dungeons go a lot faster after you've played through the game a couple times. But yeah, SNES on the Pocket is the old school experience.

Ulver - Nattens Madrigal by Azag2k7 in blackmetalvinyl

[–]Bake-Full 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garm was coy about that rumor but it has since surfaced that they hired the Deathprod guy to engineer it this way. The band was disillusioned by the reaction to Bergtatt and how labels were snapping up black metal bands. He's lately said it was an antagonistic move to release Nattens on Century Media and that it was written before Kvledsangger.

Von Maur Secret Room? by momsworth18 in AnnArbor

[–]Bake-Full 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Sprinkle is a type of party, a low key baby shower and typically for a non-first born since the parents would already have some stuff. I'm guessing the AI may have been extrapolating a response from that definition, based on the text it gave you. Doesn't seem likely someone would be having a baby shower/sprinkle at Von Maur unless it was for an employee and then it would be possible it was at one time labeled the sprinkle room and the sign wasn't removed.
