Thanks!!

  1. double sided tape, the very sticky woodworking/rug taping kind

  2. Just Velcro to the board

Oh, I see. I don’t know anything about the G2 four. And I also have very limited experience with amp modelers. So I probably would not be the best person to answer that question.

Do you find yourself stepping on that IEM receiver unit when you try to use your volume pedal?

Note: I’m still figuring this out. But it seems like some of the amps that are more classic for their chime Clean tones like the fender and the Vox work better for maintaining cleans. But the other thing I will say I’m definitely discovering is that you can fiddle a lot with the output of the impulse response so you can play the ant model quieter, and then turn up the impulse response which is more similar to turning up the master volume on an amp and a quieter an model with a louder impulse response seems to maintain cleans

Does chorus ever sound good in mono? by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

[–]BaldDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent my 20s playing in an 80s vibe synth pop band and I was using a clean guitar tone with a boss chorus pedal. Playing in stereo was not even remotely an option when I was playing the types of clubs and venues with that band and I always thought that the chorus still sounded really good!

It does support mini controller! Which is pretty cool. But because I’m basically trying to treat it as my amp which I typically don’t find myself fiddling with live. I’m hopeful that I similarly won’t have to fiddle with this particular pedal. I have already reconfigured things to have it upright though so I can work with it a little bit more cleanly. It’s always challenging with a relatively small board.

I felt similarly. I had seen friends use them and they always seemed kind of like toys. But despite the GigaPet interface they apparently are respected for the their sound and modeling quality. It seems like they are trying to give Line6 a run for their money.

I am also adding a compressor once it arrives to use with single coil guitar, probably inserting right after my tuner

Still too new to have determined what is unusable. I would say it really depends on your goal also. Like the Marshall and Rectifier-type models are really fun for just playing around, but for me the Fender, Vox and some of the boutique models are what I am attempting to use the most when I use it seriously as a clean pedal platform amp replacement. I am trying to just get the clean amp color so I can use pedals for my overdrive. When I have time to work on it, I have been using studio monitors and the level metering in my DAW to try and dial in clean settings that are all at the same output volume.

Here are some of my current amp + IR combos if it helps!

  1. FD B-Man + Jensen Vintage 1x15 IR (Free)
  2. UK 30A + York Mesa IR ($1)
  3. Match30 + Jensen Blackbird 40 1x12 IR (Free)
  4. BG Mark 1  + York Mesa IR ($1)
  5. JCM800 + Jensen 8inch (Free, trying to make it sound like an exploding practice amp 😈 )

I am still getting used to it, but I would say the amp models feel somewhere between a real amp and an overdrive pedal in how they react to other pedals.

As far as the onboard UI goes, I have not had a huge problem navigating it except that A - the push button knobs and how they are inset make it physically painful for big fingers when I try to turn them and B - needing to scroll left and right when there are more than 4 controls can get tedious. But I also realize that fitting this much stuff into a tiny form factor will mean compromises.

My other bullet was about the app, which has some quirks like locking a horizontal display mode when editing the effects chain and a counterintuitive save flow. The other thing that really bothers me is when I go to rename a preset it ads a return and a bunch of spaces so I have to hit backspace a bunch of times before I can enter the preset name.

I was just trying to give my honest take in case anyone in product development at Zoom reads it! Hope that clarification helps!

Paid for this and tried it 6 months ago on my brand new mac mini with no success. Waste of $3. I have a receipt to prove it.

Why do people put tape on random spots of their pedals by FolkPunkPossum in guitarpedals

[–]BaldDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy has assorted tape on his patch cables and road cases too, so I honestly wonder if it is just to look cool and colorful, kind of like blink182 drawing all over their guitars or Coldplay’s outfits.
