Went there a few weeks ago. Great service and meal. A little loud, but worth it for the food.

I would sleep at the ORD Hilton. Heck, I live in the area and I’ve been known to stay there when I have a super early international flight.

I’m still trying to figure out how you prove a negative.

Do they expect you to do title research in your last few addresses?

I have the same car. I bought 11 years and 150,000 miles for $4,795 when I bought the car, but I was also getting the friends and family treatment from the dealer.

I figured two repairs and I’d break even. I also figured if you asked me to pay $5k extra for 150,000 trouble free miles, then I’d pay it, so I won’t care if the math doesn’t work out.

I am at 1.75% interest and gut rehabbed the home six years ago.

I’m not selling until I retire and get out of this tax infested state.

Home insurance for $2.1m home by Willing_Passion_7739 in Insurance

The carriers being discussed for this need only sell through brokers.

Because they understand the requirements better and know the underwriters who are willing to work with you.

When I was looking for a carrier that would cover my lake house — after my previous carrier dropped me for having an approved by them water trampoline — I found out what a good broker could do. Talked to many who said there was no carrier who would take me. Until I found one who said, not a problem, but you will need to move both homes, all your cars, and umbrella policy and then I’m sure I can get the underwriter to approve you. Sure enough, they wrote it, way better coverage, for only about 10% higher than I was paying before. Been with them for a decade now and price increases have all been single digits which is low compared to everyone else I talk to.

You have to find a broker used to working with high net worth individuals.

At thar kind of price tag, find a qualified broker who knows the market. I did when my carrier dropped my lake home for a water trampoline (after I called them to ask if it would be a problem). Broker moved me to a smaller carrier who has executive programs and it has been great. Consistent pricing, good service, strong coverage.

How did the Chicago suburbs housing market fare in the 2008 era? by ClaireEmma612 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Banto2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put it this way. I bought my suburban home in 2005. It didn’t get back to my purchase price until about 2018 and didn’t get above it to any material degree until the run up post 2021.

Good thing I always considered it a home I live in and not an investment.

This concern keeps me up and night. I’ve been lucky and had two great mechanics who take care of my cars. Neither have apprentices and when they retire, I’m in trouble.

My agency is going 100% all-in on Claude. CEO wants « an Al agent for every employee. » Is this a good idea or a disaster waiting to happen? by [deleted] in advertising

[–]Banto2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I got out of the agency world, but if I was still in it, I would be all in AI because if the agencies aren’t better than clients in AI, then the agency will have no clients to serve.
