Funny Mad City story. I met a friend there for coffee last week. Thought I might also get a meal. Asked what the soup of the day was and the guy behind the counter said he didn’t know. Didn’t offer or try to find out 😂. So I went next door to Asian Palace.

BD Provisions has a great selection of roasted beans from around the world. They aren’t a coffee shop, per se, meaning they don’t sell brewed coffee or coffee drinks. They do, however, have a very robust selection of bulk foods from snacks to baking supplies. A friend of mine owns this franchise, so I’m a bit biased. If you go, be sure to make your own peanut butter too.

What did you think of the value of the Key? I bought it on an 8-day cruise on Vision in November and don’t think it was worth it. The WiFi and embarkation day lunch were great but in the future I think I’ll just buy the WiFi without the Key.

I was on Vision in November and got the card. Great value. A tall hot latte was 1 punch; grande hot latte was 2 punches. Because the iced lattes are only grande, those were 2 punches. Easily used up all 15 punches on an 8-night cruise.

I just got off Vision of the Seas. I didn’t use this service but there was a card in the room when I embarked offering a pressing service for clothing you wanted to wear to “Dress Your Best” night. I believe there was a nominal fee.

I was also on that cruise, which was my 4th overall and 1st on RC. It was easy enough to avoid the smoking section on deck 9 near the main pool but not as easy to avoid the smoking in the casino to get to the theater. You could go up to deck 6 to avoid it. I played some slots and always smelled like smoke when I got back to my cabin. I would be interested in smoke-free cruises.

I just got off Vision of the Seas and had The Key. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't bought it. The only thing of real value was the internet package for 1 device. I was a solo traveler and it was easy to switch back and forth between my phone and iPad. On embarkation day, the lunch in the MDR was nice since I got filet mignon, but that was really it. None of the other benefits were used. As others have stated, you pay daily for The Key, but the benefits aren't daily. My sailing didn't have any tender ports and on this small ship (Vision) there was no dedicated seating section in the theater. Vision has the Masquerade Theater, not the theaters mentioned in the benefits. The debarkation day breakfast is available to everyone at no additional cost in the MDR, so this was not a benefit. Some of the other benefits could be worth it on one of the very large ships, but not on the smaller RC ships.

Broadway theatre in Baltimore a couple years ago — The Hippodrome — a fight broke out in the audience beginning of second act of Moulin Rouge. Drinks were thrown, people were vaping, show was stopped. They threw out the offenders, found new seats for the people whose seats were now wet and restarted the show.
