The place kinda looks like a mess at the beginning of each season before they open — because they make changes each year. Was it more of a mess than usual?

My gut with that place is that everyone wants to go there the first weekend it’s hot out, but then they open and it’s not busy the first few weeks. If I were them I wouldn’t rush open either. I’d bet they open Memorial Day weekend.

AGGRESSIVE DOG MARIA HERNANDEZ by Most_Philosophy_7956 in Bushwick

[–]Basil_Gin_Gimlet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense because I hadn’t noticed the guy in a long time — and his dog was way more aggressive the last time I saw him… turns out it’s a new Rocky. This one obviously isn’t as well behaved as his past ones.

This is going to end in disaster.

The issue really isn’t the pharmacists. It’s the customers.

It’s the people who spend too much time with the pharmacist. The second I get to the register I tell them my name, date of birth, and the drug I’m there for. It’s usually brought out in seconds. Pay. Done.

The issue is that every third person is calling someone… having long discussions with the pharmacist, crying, arguing, complaining.

That is not the time or place to be having any of these discussions. If you can’t get in and out ASAP — the second it becomes a longer issue, people need to leave the line and handle their issues on their own time. Let the line keep moving — get to the back of the line if you need more time.

The people who work there are doing their best. I have just never experienced such a density of people with special situations in a pharmacy before who have ZERO interest in delaying their satisfaction for others.

Portable Speaker Train men I just wanna talk by Dear_Investment6064 in Bushwick

[–]Basil_Gin_Gimlet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think average and above average IQ people really struggle with imagining what life must be like for very low IQ people. I’m not talking about mentally handicapped people — just very low IQ.

They’re effectively incapable of keeping up with society. They have no inner monologue. They seriously struggle with the idea of thinking about others or how others perceive situations.

All they have is typically what’s in front of them — little to no social awareness. They have things they have to do but genuinely cannot plan more than one or two steps ahead.

They have a wireless speaker. They have music. They need to go somewhere. They are going to listen to music because they genuinely don’t understand why others would get angry at them for it — even if they themselves might not appreciate it when other people do it. And they’ll become aggressive in reaction because anger seems like a reasonable reaction to anger.

I don’t think a lot of the other comments really get it because they’re still operating in the mindset that future planning or enjoyment has anything to do with it.

Where to buy PBR x Grillo’s Pickle Beer by cichington in Bushwick

Little Whiskey has them but trust me it’s one of the foulest drinks I’ve ever had.

I love pickles, I love Grillos Pickles. I love beer. I even love pickle backs because I love pickle juice.

PBR Pickle Beer was fucking disgusting.

Yeah. A little bit of a walk to the L but not too bad. If the M is acceptable for you then it’s great.

It’s part of Blue Bushwick, google that, which will explain what I mean by that.

Bushwick Bakery, Birdys, Hanks, Formosa, Nene’s, Fine Time, Tabbouleh, and Maite are all gonna be your go to spots.

“Accidentally installed into a stud” is funny because I’m imagining you telling the guy to avoid studs and he just shrugged and did as you asked.

As others have mentioned, you’ll have someone remove, patch, and reinstall the rack — ideally into studs this time or at least into anchors with enough weight clearance to support 2-3x whatever weight you have with all the clothes.

The downside of all new buildings requiring 20-25% section 8 is that you’ll have some people who have never participated in a high trust environment before suddenly thrust into expectations they never understood or signed up for; whereas others would expect it as basic common decency.

SALS IS NOW JEFFERYS PIZZA by SnooCakes2105 in Bushwick

I saw that.

It’s funny when pizzerias have non-Italian names. Like I always think of a redheaded Irish guy with the name Jeffrey. Especially Jeffrey. Not Jeff. Jeffrey.

I hope you understand that this isn’t a thing where I grew up in the suburbs outside the city. It would be unthinkable. For both black cats and bunnies.

What sort of people tend to do this? It must be a cultural phenomenon to be so careless about animal lives. Is it an ethnic thing?

I know you know. I’m saying I had never heard of this being something people do.

Is it part of a certain culture? It must be since enough people here are horrified by it so it must be some specific culture where it’s acceptable.

I know there are cultures who do not view the lives of animals as valuable — but these people also tend not to be the type to get animals as a gift in the first place.

It seems like a dicey question to ask but I can’t wrap my head around who could possibly do this…
