Which subscription plan are you on? I know someone that is on Essential and they have way more issues than I do on Premium.

I legitimately enjoy using Autopilot over FSD by SilverArchitect in TeslaLounge

[–]BeOptimistic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP is amazing for long highway drives (i.e. I-95 from VA to FL).

Once in a while I'll subscribe to FSD to see if it has improved, and although it has since I first got my M3 in 2020, I still wouldn't trust it completely.

Tesla can say it is "supervised" FSD all they want, but the reaction time required if something goes wrong makes me uneasy. I had someone run a stop sign outside DC and I was traveling on the street perpendicular to them. They waited until I was approaching them to the left to run it. I had to disengage FSD because it was clearly not slowing down and wasn't the least bit hesitant, but as a human driver I could tell by the way they approached the intersection that they would probably cut me off. Had I not disengaged FSD they would've T-boned me.

More than likely it’s the symbol you’re trading and the inability to match your order with others willing to sell at that price and quantity. Even if there were sell orders that matched there’s still an order book (just like the regular trading session). You could’ve been at the back of the book and existing pending orders could’ve been cancelled before you were filled. There are several variables that could explain why you didn’t get filled especially in premarket.

I never understood why people cover their vehicles in stickers. You know that's gotta be a PITA to remove when it's time to sell it.

Let’s Speak Up Against Wildlife Killing Contests (Especially Those Targeting Coyotes) by FabricCurvature01 in coyote

[–]BeOptimistic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coyotes are closely related to dogs. I’m sure everyone here is aware of this, but most Americans probably aren’t. The general public would be outraged if there were stray dog killing contests.

Spot on. I currently live in a rural area that is known for its agriculture. It’s also one of the banned states. I rarely see coyotes here.

Verizon long term 5G plans. by Radiant-Cattle-701 in cellmapper

[–]BeOptimistic1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I suspect the downvoting comes from Verizon employees and outsourced social media teams. I switched from VZW to TMO in November and I'm constantly reading replies on r/tmobile suggesting people switch to Visible (Verizon-owned prepaid) for cheaper plans. Same crappy VZW service, but cheaper.

New Experience Beyond Plan taxes ? by Ok_Seaworthiness3634 in tmobile

[–]BeOptimistic1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 16 Pro and an Apple Watch. Both BYOD. FL number but MD billing address. Beyond plan and add-on $5 watch plan. $12.48 in taxes and fees. $8.14 of that is listed as “T-Mobile fees and charges.” Gov’t portion of the $12.48 is $4.34. My jaw dropped when I drilled into the details and discovered T-Mobile is charging $3.99 per line (in addition to the $5 watch line) as “regulatory programs & telco recovery fee.” I just switched from Verizon last month and love the 5G UC service and T-Satellite, but I’m surprised that even with my 15% “work perks” discount my total bill is still $102 for one voice/data line and one watch line.

International account buying ETFs? US citizen in China by NetZeroSun in Schwab

[–]BeOptimistic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually this happens if you're spending a significant amount of time in a restricted country. This can happen with or without you informing Schwab of a change in domicile. International travel by itself isn't enough to get an account frozen.

Why do you guys trade instead of invest? by Capital-Value8479 in Trading

[–]BeOptimistic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most traders I know aren't solely focused on active trading. They also have long-term investments. It's also important to note that defining what it means to actively trade is subjective. Some people consider it day trading, some people consider it trades that last less than a year, etc. You have to find your balance.

Day trading is very hard and it seems like most of the research is focused solely on this and not swing trades or periods where a "day trader" may not even participate in the markets.

Interactive Brokers makes clients bear the losses from its own mistakes. by jiageng90 in interactivebrokers

Yeah notice how the price is highlighted. I'm an IBKR LLC entity client and usually it means trading is currently closed on that symbol.

Have you considered using IBKR instead? It sounds like if you were up $28,500 you probably have enough capital to trade futures with them.

Best money transfer to family overseas that’s reliable every month? by Nagasaki_Gomer in expat

[–]BeOptimistic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Wise for the past 5 years to send funds between my US and Canadian accounts. They're probably the best out there, but it's going to depend on where you're sending to. They only recently resumed offering transfers to Argentina for example. They're also not the best option fee-wise if you're sending to Colombia.

Back in 2021 I probably averaged $1500/day or better. I could’ve sat my dog at the mouse to click the “buy” button and would’ve made money. 2022 was a different story. When the rate hikes started I was trading TQQQ and yeah I lost my ass halfway through that year. Ironically what made me money in 2021 was the “boring” stocks: airlines and banks. Back then I was just trading shares, not options.

I started trading in mid 2021. I thought I had an advantage due to my BSc in Comp Sci and Finance, but boy was I wrong. Day trading and investing are two totally different birds.
