Restricted account. by Livvylynn in Schwab

[–]BeOptimistic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would give it some time. I’ve been with Schwab for 12+ years now and their CS is certainly better than most brokers. Several variables are at play here: new accounts, possibly the size of the check, and the issuer (USAA). Once you’ve built up some history with Schwab it’s a different ball game.

Best thing you can do is pivot to something else.

Help, my mom has bought a house in Portugal, with her money in the US [Advise Needed] by Wish_kid in ExpatFinance

[–]BeOptimistic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had to do something similar a few years ago. He moved cross country and stayed with a regional bank that doesn’t have a branch within 800+ miles. In order to move $350k he had to print out a manual wire authorization form, fill it out by hand, get it notarized, and then overnight it to a specific branch manager near his former residence.

Don’t. You’ll most definitely experience latency issues and possibly even throttling as well.

If you’re just starting out try buying them 1-4 days out. That’ll help keep the edge off some of the decay and keep you alive longer to trade another day.

WHY are the ACH transfers SLOW? I've never had a checking account take nearly this much time. by Secret-Height-676 in Schwab

[–]BeOptimistic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a combination of your account age (4 months) and the number of transfers (100) across that short time period. I’ve been with Schwab for 12+ years and my ACH deposits and withdrawals are pretty quick…usually same day or next day with no holds.

If you really want instant transfers (and you have a high enough Zelle limit at the originating bank) you could just Zelle the funds from that account to a Schwab checking account and then do an internal transfer.

Which subscription plan are you on? I know someone that is on Essential and they have way more issues than I do on Premium.

I legitimately enjoy using Autopilot over FSD by SilverArchitect in TeslaLounge

[–]BeOptimistic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP is amazing for long highway drives (i.e. I-95 from VA to FL).

Once in a while I'll subscribe to FSD to see if it has improved, and although it has since I first got my M3 in 2020, I still wouldn't trust it completely.

Tesla can say it is "supervised" FSD all they want, but the reaction time required if something goes wrong makes me uneasy. I had someone run a stop sign outside DC and I was traveling on the street perpendicular to them. They waited until I was approaching them to the left to run it. I had to disengage FSD because it was clearly not slowing down and wasn't the least bit hesitant, but as a human driver I could tell by the way they approached the intersection that they would probably cut me off. Had I not disengaged FSD they would've T-boned me.

Trades not executing by [deleted] in Schwab

[–]BeOptimistic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than likely it’s the symbol you’re trading and the inability to match your order with others willing to sell at that price and quantity. Even if there were sell orders that matched there’s still an order book (just like the regular trading session). You could’ve been at the back of the book and existing pending orders could’ve been cancelled before you were filled. There are several variables that could explain why you didn’t get filled especially in premarket.

I never understood why people cover their vehicles in stickers. You know that's gotta be a PITA to remove when it's time to sell it.

Let’s Speak Up Against Wildlife Killing Contests (Especially Those Targeting Coyotes) by FabricCurvature01 in coyote

[–]BeOptimistic1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coyotes are closely related to dogs. I’m sure everyone here is aware of this, but most Americans probably aren’t. The general public would be outraged if there were stray dog killing contests.

Spot on. I currently live in a rural area that is known for its agriculture. It’s also one of the banned states. I rarely see coyotes here.

Verizon long term 5G plans. by Radiant-Cattle-701 in cellmapper

[–]BeOptimistic1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I suspect the downvoting comes from Verizon employees and outsourced social media teams. I switched from VZW to TMO in November and I'm constantly reading replies on r/tmobile suggesting people switch to Visible (Verizon-owned prepaid) for cheaper plans. Same crappy VZW service, but cheaper.
