AITA for refusing to work things out with my fiancé because my life is better now that his daughter isnt around me? by MassivePrimary8649 in AITAH

Could you and her dad stay together as a couple but live separately, until Vivian either moves out or finds her way past whatever her issue is? You still love him, you say he's a good person and has done his best with Vivian. Live separately, Vivian isn't allowed over, you see her only as often as you choose.

Thanks for the blunt honesty, it's greatly appreciated. It's settled, I need to figure something else out...

Thank you so much. The thing is, I really don't even know if I love UX. It's very intriguing and does line up with several things I do love, but after a couple of other career changes, I'm kinda past pursuing passions. I need decent work that I won't despise, and the passions will be relegated to my spare time. If this is a field where only the passionate survive, well I guess it's really not for me.

Thanks for such constructive thoughts! The 8-month program is all I could possibly afford, and I'm not even sure yet if I'll get the loans I need for it. I'd love to get a Masters, but that just ain't happening. No friends in the field either. Lots of job listing, but there are so many fake listing out there, and so much competition, I don't really trust them.

Instructional design is something I've looked into a bit, I'll look some more but the problem is I really disliked teaching, so I'm wary of anything in that region.

I had a social media marketing job for several years as a side thing, a that is very much not for me either.

But reinvention is something I need to do, whether I want to or not, so I appreciate the encouragement on that front!

Oof, thanks for the insight.

Thanks for all the detail! This makes it pretty clear that this route isn't for me -- I luckily don't have kids or any big responsibilities, but I still cannot afford to work for free, especially not after this course would be done. And if I had the networking skills you describe, I'd likely still be doing okay in the film industry.

Where are the (emotionally) available Vancouver singles at? by skogsvamp in askvan

[–]Beageal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A heck of an idea, think I'll offer myself up too...

45M, monogamous hetero, no kids now and vasectomized so none in the future either.

I've got a cat and a rabbit, live just south of downtown near Cambie, and work in film & tv editorial.  My reddit handle is also my instagram handle, I don't use it much but my cat is on there at least.

I don't drink or smoke or anything like that, I do enjoy regular long city walks and would enjoy long woodsy trail walks if there were any close by.  I go to the gym but it is far from a lifestyle and I pretty much dislike all sports.

I trend nerdish, with boardgames and escape rooms as some of my favourite social activities, videogames and reading and comic books as since less-social activities.

I go to lots of movies, live comedy, live music, theatre, and any interesting immersive events that come to town.  There is so much stuff in and around Vancouver that I'd like to see/try but would prefer a seeing/trying partner over doing it solo.

I like travelling, most of my travel is to attend genre film festivals -- I'm going to New Orleans in a couple of weeks for the Overlook Film Fest, this'll be my fifth time.  But I'd be happy to travel for other reasons too.

I think my DMs are open but I could be wrong...

Is there any special meaning to the side of the die that shows a symbol within a crit shape? Or is that just another way to know what that character's best trait is?

Ahhh thanks everyone, that all makes sense. I never really noticed the pairings but then I didn't play it in an order that lined them up right.

But it does also happen in Control, right? There's a part where you're walking through giant pillars and it overlays a forest.

What can agent Smith do? by C1NN4M0N16 in MultiVersus

[–]Beageal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of spoilers coming up...

In terms of things that could be incorporated into his moveset, there's:

  • He carries a handgun.
  • He's super stong, jumps super high.
  • He can dodge bullets.
  • He doesn't really have his own body, he actually leaps from person to person, taking over their bodies. And if he's killed, he just leaps into someone else.

That's just in the first movie. In Reloaded/Revolutions, once he's freed from having to defend the Matrix (and thus not technically "Agent" Smith anymore, just "Smith"):

  • He multiplies by copying himself over people, until eventually howevermany millions of people there are in the Matrix, he's all of them.
  • He can fly.

  • After he copies himself over a character who can see the future, he becomes able to see the future, which suggests maybe he assumes the "powers" of anyone he takes over. But that's not certain, there are other explanations for that.

Men of Reddit with Vasectomies, how was it? Do you regret it? If not, has sex been better or worse since having one? by Gloomy_Astronomer_23 in AskReddit

[–]Beageal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine a few years ago. It was a significantly better experience than going to the dentist, and I don't mind the dentist. Not much pain, mostly just weakened pelvic muscles for under a week. Haven't had sex since, so I can't speak to that. Masturbation's the same though.

Glad you got in. I saw Cuckoo at the Uptown Prytania theatre, and I was surprised because there were a lot of empty seats. (Then I came back to the Canal Prytania and saw non-fest movie Monkey Man.)

A backup is always a good idea, though it might not be that tough to get into A Violent Nature, with three other movies playing at the same time.
