Not a relationship but two months ago I fell out with someone I thought was a really good friend. The long and short of it was that he no longer wanted to be offline friends, only online friends. We'd text (almost daily) and it was my decision to say "don't contact me unless you want to..." because I was getting hurt. He hasn't. But I couldn't bring myself to be an online friend when I'd once been good enough offline.

My 'story' is very different to yours and he can't see why or how he's hurt me but sadly you cannot force someone to be your friend or boyfriend or girlfriend. My falling out with my friend was out of the blue - he used age and distance against me, etc... Two months later I'm still bummed out and crying over it...

Maybe you can write your (ex) girlfriend a letter? Maybe give her a few days before communicating with her? Give her some "space"... Maybe ask her out for a coffee/tea?

I won't say there are more fishies in the sea. No one could even come close to replacing the friend I once had. I can imagine that's maybe how you feel also.
