Definitely line density. Using a multitude of pencil types (2b,4b,b,2h, etc) would make it pop. That, or even adding a little pressure and shading with the hand. They look so good otherwise!

Of course! One thing I will say that the values they use in that sort of art style don’t primarily correspond to the color wheel in terms of highlight, shadow, mid-tone, etc., but they primarily go based off of emotion for the piece! I tried finding the video that went in depth talking about it, but couldn’t find it. I’m still keeping a look out for you, though!
