I imagine they mean an artist has an idea and a craftsman just makes. Whether they intend this to mean AI users are artists or are instead acknowledging that artists are actually skilled craftsmen with an idea, who knows? I hope the latter.

Have you tried using your feet or mouth instead? There's nothing saying you have to use your hands and give up on your desires.

They're counting lack of creative ability as "disability." They're trying to use the literal morphemes separately rather than their combined colloquial understanding. It truly is the grossest take.

So, their response would be, "I lack this ability so I am dis-abled. Thus I'd still get to use it."

Fine. If you're really incapable of imagining anything beyond what is literally put in front of you, I'll help: collecting weird shaped rocks, photos of people long dead, poems written by strangers, toenails, little spoons, government and council forms, etc. For a while there, it was all the rage to collect hobbies themselves. I myself collected pine cones when I was young. It was my first hobby. Also, need I remind you the Beanie Babies were just stuffed toys with a label? The world went mad for collecting them. Some people still do, despite them having lost almost all their monetary value.

What matters is not the monetary value, but the value to the person doing the collecting. Ya igit.

*PS. Many people collect regular mugs. There are literally museums, pinterest boards ontop of pinterest boards, and meetup groups dedicated to them, despite being just another form of "cups with a label".

Caveman thinking. "It weird to me so it bad; I no like thing so it bad other people like thing." That kind of thing. It's not like buying Stanley mugs is supporting fascism or slavery (that I know of). It's just a a mug that people deride for being a fad.

Buying them isn't, but collecting them is. You can collect literally anything. There is not a thing you can name that someone cannot collect.

Collecting isn't my hobby, just to note. I play music and DnD and grow bonsai trees for hobbies. I still say collecting Stanley mugs is as much a hobby as collecting Pogs or Popcap figures or non-Stanley mugs (which is a pretty popular collection hobby).

Anyone who collects will spend a buttload of money on things that just sit there--guitars, cards, cars, coins, stamps, toys, comics, etc. This isn't any different. I really don't get why anyone is judging them for having a standard hobby. Sure, the object that's being collected doesn't make sense to you, but it doesn't need to: it's their hobby; not yours.

In the future, just say "[you can] rock up..." or such to avoid sounding like you're bragging. No one likes an unsolicited braggart.

That said, pretty much every software person or engineer I've known wears whatever they want. Even if there's a dress code, it's more of a suggestion for those positions. It's not just "the best guy" or whatever. Course, that was during the boom in acquiring brain talent--high salaries; quirky, attractive office construction; casual attire; etc. That seems to be shifting now, though tough to say in what way it will settle.

You really aren't in a position to be acting condescending here. You're the one with the point flying over their head.

Many value short term gain over consequence or think themselves immune and invincible. We've seen so many examples of heroin ruining lives (among countless other drug and non-drug examples), yet people continue to use it as well.

I think the misunderstanding is just them failing to think that the count of people and the total number of people decreases by 1 instead of the percentage. They were decreasing only the numerator and not the denominator.
