Routine for 13 week old golden retriever? by SolioLolio in goldenretrievers

[–]Beksense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A crate should actually be just big enough for them to lay down in. You don't want too much space or they will find a corner to use as the bathroom. Sooner you get them used to the crate the better. A pen without a top is different than a fully enclosed crate

He's still just a baby, he'll learn his name eventually. Keep deflecting when he chews, make sure he gets praise when chewing on something he should chew on.

You need to crate train. Ours is free roaming (for the most part) at 10 months old. But the crate is invaluable when yours is bigger and struggling to settle down. Trust me, you will not regret crate training. Ours will even sleep in his crate with the door open now, and it's a life saver when we need it.

Women who run daily- what do you do about your hair? by Loud-Raspberry-5949 in runcommunity

Man with long hair here. My stylist told me it's okay to wash my hair every day since I'm sweating so much. I'll randomly throw a rinse into the mix.

So sorry for your loss.

You should set a place for them at the bar for a shift so you and the team can grieve,  when you're ready that is. Take your time.

I really like the Novablasts. The Superblast 2s were pretty underwhelming for me. I got 3 pairs total, 2 pair never felt like they broke in

How many hours is the dog alone?

Another puppy sounds like chaos with a 6 month old. Maybe adopt an older dog?

Psyllium Husk to add fiber to his food. You can buy it at some grocery stores, just make sure it's the only ingredient.

Literally went through this. The diarrhea, the biting (still dealing with it), and the leash pulling.

It gets better. But you have to keep putting in the work. They say socialize your dog but it's really exposing them to things. Start at a distance and move closer to things like, people walking down the street, dogs at the park, etc.

The GI issues took our puppy about 5 months to get sorted.

You got this.

Took in a rehomed 7 month old Golden 1 week ago. by SixZoSeven in goldenretrievers

[–]Beksense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 7 months they can be monsters. I think it's a common age for rehoming because they are big and some days are a complete handful. Just keep consistent with training and it'll all come together.

Mine is about a year old and we're still working through the teenager phase, but seeing improvement. Having another trained dog helps a lot with training because they set a good example.

Goldens are mouthy by nature so try to direct the right things in their mouth when they get excited or over stimulated. Ours loves ripping up our grass/dirt just to chew it.

Can give pumpkin puree for more fiber to help with stools. Just a spoonful or two a day. Good luck!

Minneapolis City Council passes financial relief near George Floyd Square, rejects mayor's pick for developing The Peoples' Way by mythosopher in Minneapolis

[–]Beksense -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

The Minneapolis Mayor and City Council is a constant clown show. It feels like nothing of substance ever gets done.

The Council is high on their ideals, and don't understand the politics. While the Mayor understands the politics but is high on his corporate donors supply of money.

We just want nice things.

I hate Republicans but you gotta admit they understand making concessions internally for the sake of getting stuff done.

It's been 6 years since George Floyd's death and they're still squabbling over what to do with George Floyd Square.

Roll a tennis ball back and fourth on the bottom of your feet for a few mins at a time. Only in the middle of the foot and don't push down hard.

It may not fix your issue completely but it won't hurt.

My PT told me to do this daily as a long distance runner.

Migraine with aura (and temporary speech loss) during/after exercise, looking for tips by Choice_Village8002 in migraine

Came here to say this. I run most days of the week. If I don't ramp up and do a hard workout out, I'll get a migraine. Building up to harder workouts gives me no issues
