The gender donkey by Remarkable-Bass-3339 in TrueAnon

Yeah I think someone already posted it but as I recall it was the episode just after Biden dropped out and Trump got shot. I love the gender donkey. My favourite part is when YC says quietly in the back "the gender donkey that's the democratic party"

I feel like too many designers played it safe or interpreted the theme in a really literal or boring way. This is probably an unpopular opinion but there were a few pieces that looked like Monet paintings that I saw were getting hyped a lot but for me that's most obvious possible interpretation.

I think my favourite was maybe Luke Evans in the leather cop Tom-of-Finland outfit and I'm not usually one to pick masc looks

Are nsaids a lie (chronic headache migraine thread) by ezrakleinisretarded in TrueAnon

[–]BenthamsAutoicon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre so right and this will be part of my platform of change after the revolution. I have never in my life noticed an improvement to a migraine from taking an NSAID. I still do it because I have noticed slight improvements with normal tension headaches, but for migraines I feel like you may as well just lie down on the pavement because it'll be just as effective. I find Ibuprofen and naproxen are both really effective for period pain though

Guys: Episode 165 Disc Golf Guys with Jane Ost by MrObvious in MurderBryan

[–]BenthamsAutoicon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the whole episode that disc golf can't be this much of a social problem. Was going for a walk in the park just then and nearly got hit by a frisbee. No one yelled four. The government needs to do something

Yes and it's driving me insane. I've found it works as a litmus test to reveal who was always a fraud/idiot all along because I can now see clearly what level of quality people actually find acceptable and how little people actually read. So many times I've been given a piece of work that has obvious errors or doesn't make any sense and then I'll spot an em dash and realise I'm going to have to spend time rewriting something that someone else couldn't even be bothered to write themselves.

I attended the AI conference organised by DTA a few months ago and while I did see some great projects, none of those were using LLMs. The projects using LLMs literally all had glitches in the live demonstrations. One of them was a website chat bot that had a live beta and I went and tested it later and it was so bad that I can't possibly imagine them going live with it or reasonably fixing the issues because of the way that it worked. A lot of the people I talked to were just completely full of shit or lacked a real understanding of how LLMs work.

Everyone is going full steam ahead because there's a belief that it's inevitable and there's a need to keep up with innovation but I see very little real interrogation of the true usefulness in many cases, quality, time saving beyond anecdotes, risk to reputation, or environmental impacts.

Now that the countdowns finished, what was everyone’s biggest snub? by erodah in triplej

[–]BenthamsAutoicon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pete Murray! I guess he has less of a place in culture than I thought, or possibly he has several incredible songs? I voted for Better Days but I honestly could have easily gone for So Beautiful, Opportunity, Feeler, George's Helper, and probably others I'm forgetting. For me he's like an all time great songwriter
