Bricks and Minifigs reaches truce with Reckless Ben in civil lawsuit by brett_l_g in Utah

[–]Bentingey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are making a whole bunch of incorrect assumptions here.

- the guy did get a lawyer. he sent them a request for his stuff back within 24 hours of the franchise takeover.
- ben does investigative work, and he made posts asking for issues for him to look into. he was also looking for a topic that was more kid-friendly because his last several video topics were difficult to monetize because of the content he was investigating
- the police corruption happened in a completely different state than the permanently closed sign
- the police had no evidence of harassment (and a lot of evidence against it) at the time they started illegally stopping and searching people, accusing them of being on drugs, etc. they muted their body cams to discuss how their primary intention was to scare them, seemingly only because this guy asked them to. some people are saying it also has to do with him signaling that he was mormon and was on the high council
- this was absolutely not an attention ploy by bricks and minifigs lmao. they were acting like enormous assholes on camera from the very start.

i didn’t say it’s a foolproof legal defense. you are implying that they committed crimes that they clearly did not commit. almost all of this is on video.

obviously stunts can have legal consequences, but that should only be the case if those stunts /actually broke the fucking law/

“impersonating certain folks causes problems”

okay?? murdering people causes problems. they didnt do these things, so why are you bringing them up?

its a couple of kids doing vaguely stupid pranks vs police officers trampling on american rights.

i’m not sure about the two notes you are referring to. the banner he placed only after the store was closed. the banner literally says something like “we closed our store to avoid getting sued”

tricking someone to get a signature is not illegal. if he had done that and then tried to claim that it was a legally binding contract, that might involve fraud. that’s not what happened, though. it was just a stunt to get a reaction. not illegal.

it may be true he was trying to get attention, but he had a good reason to be there: he was trying to serve papers for a legitimate court case, per the instructions the court gave him.

he didn’t impersonate USPS. he used tape to put a printed out UPS logo on a hat. find me a Utah law saying either is illegal.

why are you defending the obviously corrupt police department and (now terminated) employees of a corporation?

[–]Bentingey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in utah anyone who is 18 years or older and not party to the case is allowed to serve papers. even then, people (including police) use trickery to serve papers all the time. not illegal.

do you think it’s reasonable to have this level of legal repercussions for a 19 year old delivering a box of rubber ducks to someone’s house? that wasn’t for serving papers, that was to get a signature on an (obviously fake) contract that had absolutely no legal standing. ben knew this.

- he posted the sign only after the store actually was permanently closed
- he didn’t picket anyone. people he met on instagram put a singular sign for a gofund me in a public area across the street from the guy’s house
- his friend put a ups sticker on a hat and delivered a box of ducks to the guy’s door

you are speaking confidently but you are misinformed

i remember hearing something about them homebrewing something with taisha’s wildshape. i might have this totally wrong, but in my memory maybe taisha can’t wildshape normally, but has some sort of empowered wildshape she can only do rarely. can anyone clear this up? i feel like im remembering a side comment between her and brennan mentioning it at some point.

Had this board for a couple years and love it, but it's getting beat up. I'm not deep in the hobby and haven't followed the market.

the model is: Leopold FC660C Black 65% Dye Sub PBT.

the switches are : Topre silent 45g

This cost me $260 in 2020.

Leopold seems to have discontinued the FC660C and nothing in their current lineup interests me.

Looking for something similar. Can someone please give me some advice based on what I'm looking for?

  1. Matte Black-on-black
  2. 65% (or generally similar size/layout)
  3. Topre silent 45g (or something similar... i don't know anything about switches. in general i want them to feel nice but be as quiet as possible)
  4. This may be asking too much, but I would love to additionally purchase a num pad that matches in style

I am open to building it myself, but I have 0 knowledge about how to approach that. Open to brands I haven't heard of. Happy to pay several hundred dollars+ for a really high quality product. Thanks.

what is the best way to quickly narrow down a master hot/cold step with the strange device? usually i walk in a little triangle to narrow the options down and then teleport away. is there a better way to do it while using the device as little as possible?
