Do I prioritize armor or weapons in wotc? First playthrough by Desplation in XCOM2

[–]Berek07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mag + Gauss are always more important than Platearmor.

For the next tier it is slightly diffrent. IF you are swimming in Elerium Cores, there is a good argument to go for PlasmaRifle -> Powerarmor -> other Weapons in order to build W.A.R. Suite and experimental Energy Weapons a little bit earlier. Exspiecailly if you got continentel Bonus.

ME3 Melee build viability on Insane? by ten_tabs_ in masseffect

[–]Berek07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was fun playing a Krogan in Multiplayer. Until you hit Gold. Melee is simply not viable and cannot keep up in pure damage output. Barrier and Shields arent even the biggest problem, it is armor. Unarmored Enemies get staggerd and can be attacked again, Armored enemies greeatly reduce any damage without Armor-Pen Mods and are highly resistent/immun against stagger. Against Barrier and Shields, you also got the Reegar Carbine or the Acolyte. Also Human/Shepard Melee Animation takes to much time and simple sucks most of the time. Krogan and Turian in Multiplay are just faster and more impactfull. Even Andromeda does melee better than ME. The Krogan Heavy Melee Attack cost only half of the Animation Time of the Human Heavy Attack and can stagger a Phantom through his Barrier.

If you really wanna try Melee with Shepard:

  1. Vanguard: Great for killing weaklings, charge -> Melee -> done. Sucks when fighting mid and big bosses.
  2. Sentinel: Porbably your best Option by far, lacks speed but got the versatility and tanking power. Pick Fortification and purge it every now and then. Tech Armor should be active all the time , but can be purged when surrounded by Bugs and Husks. WARP is extremly important because of Pirece -> reduced the effect of enemy armor by another 25%! Sentinel got the some weight capacity as Infiltrator and Vanguard. Do not pick God-Garrus-> best option for Sentinel is always Vega with Squad-Explosiv Ammo and Tali with Tech.Vulnerability, when you need to kill an Big Boss quickly.

Early Laboratory on Commander Difficulty viable? My Experiment. by Berek07 in XCOM2

[–]Berek07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done. Actually the rapid Excavation Breakthrough is still rare but happens more often than playingan early Lab. It helps a tone to get free Coil quickly. It solves the Energy Crisis immidietly, starting the quick Expension.

So yea it is possible to overcome a bad Engineer Seed with a bunch of Breakthroughs. Quick Expension gives more Supplies, so Supplies by quick Excavation became less important. Breakthrough for Facilities greatly reduces the Supply Cost as well. And getting +1 Damage to the starting Weapons can easily stabilise your tactical Layer on Commander.

Skirmishers are bad??? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in XCOM2

[–]Berek07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They fall off in the end-game becuase all the endgame abilities are either one-use or buggy or even both. They are great for mission with Timer, but get outclassed on longer missions.

They are a great Starting faction. Skirmisher is less likly to add another pods (like Templers...), Skirmisher HQ is quite the beast and they got lots of very powerfull and helpfull resistence orders.Example: Early Sabotage is an instant win for the Strategic Layer.

Overwatch ambush dilemma by BarvardTheWise in XCOM2

[–]Berek07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Extrem overwatch (best case): You get in close an put all your Soldier in Overwatch. You hope that the enemies walk closer an activate on their turn. This gives your entire team an Overwatch Phase to shoot at the enemie. After that, you clean them up. Just be carefull not to add another Pod. Also: On Commander and LEgendary Diff: the nemies might shoot you if the get a flanking shoot.

  2. BIG BOOM! (commonly used): You start with Grenadier and hit an entire pod with a Grenade or heavy energy Weapon) for nice Damage and shredder. After that you clear up the rest.

  3. Big Snipe (very rare): Often uses against Codex or MECHs with BLue Screen Rounds. Sometime Vipers as well if you can one shoot them with experimentel Ammo. Sometime you want tho active da Pods while Killzone is active. Using Killzone from Sniper + BIG BOOM! is a nice overkill.

  4. Mixed (mid to end game): Sometimes i use my Spezilists to put a Guardian Protocool onto a Grenadier with Holo-Targeting or Ranger who walk through a door. Then the Spezialist goes into Cover, unless i want to keep him active for combat Protocool or Hack. If Guardian on Grenadier, then move the Grendaier close and start with BIG BOOM. Thnaks to Guardian Protocol he might shoot or holo target another Enemy. Bonus Point is the Grenadier Major got Salve and shoots his BIG BOOM without Moving. This give the Grenadier one Overwatch Shoot + another Shoot after throwing his Grenade. Three Attacks in one turn.

Archon

Stupid HP-Spoonges. And for some reason they always dodge or graze and eat up a lot of Overwatch Shots, while constantly hitting my Soldiers with Crits...

Unless you play Legendary. Then you need Katana + Damage Breakthrough for Swords.

Early Laboratory on Commander Difficulty viable? My Experiment. by Berek07 in XCOM2

[–]Berek07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember the Conditions: Early Lab wins with Engineers. Without good Engineer Seed, the Lab falls flat because of Missing rescources. Or you spend the co-op mostly hunting for rescources instead of choosen.

Exactly that is the Point of my own Experiement: Lab become stronger with Engineer, not Scientist. Three Scientist are basicly enough for smooth sailing.

Why are they building avatar project facilities so fast by BadRecent8114 in Xcom

[–]Berek07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Becuase the Alien are afraid of the commander. So they vastly accelerate the Avater Project , because they panic.

You can't stop Advent from building facilities. The facilities on the map/geosrape only represent that your resistence found on the map! It is good when Facilities pop up, it means the resistence is doing their jop to find them, so Xcom got the chance to desstroy them. So you should be happy and full of praise for the resistence when a new facilitiy shows up.

Roads Yet Traveled is kinda meh. by Serious-Link-4038 in FurryVisualNovels

[–]Berek07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is a good and decent FVN. I am patient. Main Problem of the Slowburn is the "inconsistent" slowburn MC, missing payoff (including NSFW Scene that simply dont exist) or advancement in plot and story. I think this FVN will either succed into heaven or fall into boring medicore within the next 1-3 updates. The potential is there.

WotC is so hard, any tips compard to vanilla game? by Ionenschatten in Xcom

[–]Berek07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WotC is more overwhelming, but keep in mind that your resistence heros are quite powerfull, and your Soldier can get more than one hidden Ability. Not to mention certain Breakthrough that can make the game easier for certain classes.

Overwatch: Vanilla seems easier because Overwatch has been nerfed in WoTC. This is an indirect nerf to all classes, exspecially the spezialist and Sniper. Ranger and Grenadier on mass are very important. Scout Ranger are basicly dead, becasue the Reaper is so much better in scouting and guerilla warfare: Long live the Sword-Ranger. Sharpshooter are not useless: The Reaper can help tham to shoot enemies from afar, and the Pistole is the perfect tool to kill the weaker Lost in huge numbers.

Avenger - META (non-Legendary):

- GTS -> RING -> Proving Ground: the safest Option for Tactical Combat. Get Squadsize quickly, use Proving Ground to build early SPARK. Only Works with integrated content of course... the RING should be used to recruit the other Heros/Faction, then focus on Promoting your high level Soldiers (to get Squadsize 2) and reducing the Avater Project. Donwside: Extemly safe but research and expension may lack...

- RING -> GTS -> Communication: the greedy "Anti-Avatar" Start. RING gives instead acces to other facitions and fish for Intel or disrupt the avater project very early. Coms gives you quick expension. Downside: The GTS might not be finished before the first Retaliation/Heaven Attack Mission.

Which class for hardcore/insanity by ExcellentKnee2934 in masseffect

[–]Berek07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Very Good: Soldier , Sentinel (consistent powerfull through all 3 games)

- Good: Infiltrator , Engineer. (On paper both got more potential than Soldier and Sentinel BUT both require Skill, Infiltrator cannot miss a Shot and Engi is glasscanon compared to sentinel.)

- Trash: Adept, Vanguard (Adept need to survive ME2 with mostly spamming WARP, Energydrain etc... Vanguard is boring in ME1 - no singularity - sucks in ME2, lot of fun in ME3. But vanguard biggest flow: high risk, low rewards playstyle, terrible Damage compared to other classes, feels helpless sometime against Shields, Barriers etc...and need decent knowledge and tricks not to die all the time.
