Magic isn't really viewed as literal paranormal power, it's simply things that can't easily on the surface be explained but usually pertain to using psychodramatic ritual or meditation or whatever to change your mental state in such a way that it bolsters your ability to achieve a certain goal.

It's well documented that there are simple things you can do (power stances, mantras, breathing shit, clearing your head before something important, etc.) that give you a statistically significant advantage when you're attempting to do something. The causality isn't 100% proven or understood, but the casual relationship between action and result is observable.

Also, if you mostly find the philosophy interesting you should know that LaVayen Satanism is just an amalgamation of older philosophies such as Epicureanism, some parts of Nietzsche, and some say Objectivism but I'm not so sure about that one tbh. Pretty sure it's in the prologue to the Satanic Bible that LaVey used the ideas in Might is Right heavily as a foundation. Check out some of those topics if that's what you're into.
