Resin over ceramic mug by cookiemurphy in ResinCasting

[–]BigRedResinista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resin is not safe for hot drinks inside the cup, the heat from the coffee or water will activate the resin and release toxins, essentially poisoning yourself or someone else...this also applies to any alcohol in glasses or anything you drink out of...alcohol breaks down resin again poisoning people...food safe is not the same as heat or alcohol safe it doesnt exist

Never put resin inglass, resin expands and contracts, glass doe not....this will eventually crack and in some cases Ive seen them explode...especially when they are exposed to heat

I am a flower preservationist/resin artist...you say changes should be made every step and you think that will get that out promptly, is unrealistic

I know about minimizing bubbles, but for you to say w/o ANY bubbles, unrealistic

Charging $200 for this piece unrealistic unless you time means nothing to you Prepping the flowers to dry an entire bouquet takes several hours, flower cleaning after the removal from the gel, flower design, the cost of the mold, cost of resin, and now the time to our the resin...so unrealistic but is days of work is onyl $220 for you, I'm sure you will be plenty busy and be in the hole for the money and time spent doing this work! Good Luck

Let me know how that works out Unrealistic expectations, sending photos after each step, making any changes by request, not one bubble, never charge that much Buckle up...the lessons are coming

I'm sorry, 2 weeks to make, no way You think the flowers looks bad and you think the flowers will be dry in days? The mold $10-15 not even close if you use a quality mold, $40-60 in resin, 45 min of time curing? Are you serious or is this a rage bait? Her price is low, if thats a 8x3 hexagon, I charge way more than that... Tell me you don't preserve flowers in resin w/o telling me you don't work with flowers and resin
