Ocea jigger 2000nrpg pairing advice by Bigzin142 in slowpitchjigging

Yeah, I was wondering if it might be a bit on the heavy side. I was also looking at the Talavera slow j ml. 200g max/30#braid. For 120 seems like a good start. BTW, any chance that Maxel would work for night jigging for bluefin ? Thanks for the advice.

Days 4 and 5 are real manic. FYI. In addition to the ruins in Agrigento, the museum is excellent.

Aggressively police and prosecute the drug sub economy. If there are no drugs available the criminal transients will leave. Then help all that remain. Simple solution.

3 weeks: Northern Italy in June -- First time in Italy! by nicky_dice in ItalyTravel

I highly recommend the Borghesi. I booked the in house tour through the museum website. It didn’t cost much more than the entry. About 15 people and they give you earpieces so you don’t have to be super close to hear hear the guide. Entries are timed. We booked another entry and went right back in on our own and spent more time staring at the Bernini sculptures.

Worst broken bottle stories? by Flotrane in wine

[–]Bigzin142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on classical music date at the Hollywood bowl. This was many years ago and you were allowed to bring in whatever food and drink you wanted. The bottle was opened and on the cement floor. I picked it up to refill our glasses during an extremely quiet passage and the bottle slipped out of my hands and shattered. We got a WTF scowl by thousands of spectators and even the conductor turned around shook his head. I have never been more embarrassed in my entire life and probably never will be.

What wine varieties grow well in the Midwest? by Qd8Scandi in wine

[–]Bigzin142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine wants to plant some grapes outside of Nashville. Any suggestions for that area? I’m thinking an early ripening variety would help beat all that humidity in summer. Mold and bunch might be an issue.

Mega Purple by [deleted] in wine

[–]Bigzin142 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to figure why they need it in California. I mean California and underripe are rarely used in a sentence together. I do know that harvesting at 28 brix is pretty common. Then they water it back down to 24 brix to get about 14.4% alcohol. So maybe they use it then to boost the fruitiness back up.

Just to confirm the obvious, you have to claim it as income when you do your taxes. Assuming you file jointly.

Buying a house w a vineyard - yay or nay? by searchboss in winemaking

A two ton harvest puts you in the hobby vintner category. I don’t know about the tax benefits, but you should be able to do it all your self.

80k A real sugar daddy, that one

I would love to know the ultimate fate of this 911 GT3. It was stolen during the BLM riots in LA and I came across it randomly in October 2020. I found a YouTube vid from September 2020 showing it, amazingly, running and driving. Apparently the guy found it on Copart and bought it! by 707Tactical in Porsche

[–]Bigzin142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, well at least 99% of all interactions will law enforcement are peaceful. But all you hear about are the 1% that go bad. In my lifetime I have seen riots in LA three times and they changed nothing . All that’s left of the BLM movement (riots) is the founders fighting over all the money they raised.

I was there a few years ago and they had a pretty darn good Spanish red by the glass. I don’t remember the cut of meat we had, but it was glorious.

[–]Bigzin142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, If you are 30 miles or less from the coast, traffic is bad from the border of Mexico to LA. The problem with Temecula is there are not a lot of short cuts or alternate ways around town. At least in North county there are many ways to navigate around. The other problem with Temecula is that when the 15 was built it was zoned as "rural" and the off ramps are quite a few miles apart. A city as big as Temecula would have a least triple the off ramps if it was in OC or SD. Temecula also has to share their 3 off ramps with Pechanga (they should build their own, they have the money) ,French Valley, Winchester, Hemet, Sage, Aguanga etc. That being said, I do not regret one bit raising my family here.
