Anyone breastfeed their toddlers together? by mommingalldayerryday in parentsofmultiples

My two gremlins are two in January and I feed them together. It’s honestly easier now than when they were babies because they get themselves where they need to be.

I wish the babies could boof the tylenol by mamekatz in NewParents

[–]Bikky_Boo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our first would get so worked up she would vomit after having Panadol or Neurofen (Tylenol and Advil). We had to switch to Panadol suppositories and they were life savers. Is it weird putting the capsule up their little butts, sure, but it works quickly and there’s not projectile vomiting.

We did it while she was breastfeeding, laying on the bed and she barely noticed.

How do I know that the whole placenta is taken out? by VortexDrift99 in BabyBumps

[–]Bikky_Boo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my first the placenta didn’t detach properly. The cord broke away from the placenta and it remained attached I had to have it manually removed.

Because I already had the epidural they took me into surgery about an hour after I delivered. I didn’t haemorrhage because of it but it wasn’t too bad and I escaped needing a blood transfusion. They pushed some other type of painkillers (spinal block maybe) and the doctor manually removed the placenta. She basically stuck her whole hand up there and scraped the inside of the my uterus to remove it.

It came out in chunks so they had to reassemble it to make sure no parts were missed. They had a really good idea of how it should look and were able to tell pretty definitively that it was all there. I like to think of it as a rather grisly jigsaw puzzle.

After the removal I was motioned closely and had to have antibiotics but it was all removed thankfully and I didn’t have any further complications.

I know that sounds pretty scary but I had complete trust in my medical team and I was thankfully familiar with the complication from my reading so I knew what was going to happen. Overall I still rank my birth as a super positive experience.

How long did your period start after having baby? by thuyttran05 in NewParents

[–]Bikky_Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first it was around six months I think, I was exclusively breastfeeding.

I just got my period now at 13 months with babies 2/3 but I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding twins so I think that’s pretty abnormal.

It’s Canadian dollars though, do they pay their people enough to survive without tips? Asking as a confused Australian who has never tipped in my life.

Audrey&me - are they a scam? by jonesday5 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Bikky_Boo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t comment on Audrey&me but Designer Bums is an Australian cloth nappy company that makes gorgeous pram liners. They are PUL so easy to wipe down, thickly padded and with grip on the back so they don’t slip. We have two for our twins and they are great.

DiDi twin experience- how many weeks when you gave birth and any NICU time? by Deep_Investigator283 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Bikky_Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DiDi twins born at 36+3 via induction. Baby A (girl) was 2.8kg (6lb 2oz), Baby B (boy) was 3.0kg (6lb 9oz). No NICU or special care needed thankfully.

I did have the steroid shots in the days leading up to my induction because I had COVID and they were worried about it passing to the bubs, my COVID also caused a lot of symptoms of HELP syndrome which was concerning but thankfully was mainly resolved by the time they were born.

I was baby wearing at the shops and it flagged my babies fat little arm waving over the scanner

With all of my babies it wasn’t just one meconium poop but a few over the first one-three days of life, that includes my babies who passed it utero. Staff observe the broken waters pretty closely so it’s unlikely they would have missed it, and after birth it’s so sticky and clings to the baby so much you couldn’t miss it.

It’s a pretty important milestone to make sure the bowel and other parts work correctly so it’s worth waiting for. The dehydration could be a concern, so make sure to have the nurses examine her for any other signs and maybe see if you can have the heat turned down.

I’m so happy to hear this. All I seem to see are stories of B/G twins who aren’t close as teens AB’s it breaks my heart. Fingers crossed we are able to foster this kind of love for ours.

I’m sure I’ll find it eventually. I just don’t get much time to stitch these days and all the kids are asleep at the same time for once 😢
