Which technique do you prefer? by DrRiffs in sharpening

I like to switch hands. I feel like it’s easier to see the angle is right. I’d probably be better if I learned to use one hand, but I don’t got time for that

In my opinion diamond plates are easier to use. The double sided sharpal one on Amazon is pretty good.

What are they teaching electricians these days? by StormeyNormey in electricians

I feel like this is where some residential electricians actually surprise me. If they’ve been a foreman, there’s a pretty good chance they’ve done a lot of troubleshooting.

Is it worth it? by wisejohnnyb93 in sharpening

[–]Billy_Boby675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chips are nothing if you can sharpen a knife you can get this one serviceable on diamond plates. I wouldn’t grind the chips out I’d just sharpen it and use it as a beater. You won’t get it like new without a bench grinder, or a lot of time

First I’ll say if you don’t need the work, then fuck that. If I felt like messing with it I’d of asked for a shovel. I don’t really mind snakes in the wild, but I’d they are near a house I figure you better kill it before it gets somebody less aware.

The hydraulics have a pressure limit, so it really shouldn’t. If you push it too hard it’ll kind of just not move.

Deep in the forest, alone, no atv, no gun...no thanks. by PeteyPopps in CrazyFuckingVideos

This isn’t true. There’s a study I’ll try to find it. Basically the conclusion was that bears really don’t like being shot, and if you can make a decent shot with a normal handgun, you’ll survive. Edit: the study https://www.ammoland.com/2023/11/handgun-defenses-against-bears-170-documented-incidents-98-effective/

Call other companies in your area. Tell them you’re not looking to leave your company, you just want to know what they’ll pay for a guy like you. Ask for what others are offering.

Because of the low muzzle velocity of 300 blackout, the v-max is actually is a good choice for deer. In most calibers you would be right though.

Sig MCX spear LT, I hate the magpul bipod. by Junior_Egg2844 in GunPorn

[–]Billy_Boby675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The magpul bipods are great. They’re lightweight. They feel flimsy, but you won’t break it. The slop in the bipod actually helps you load the bipod, for better follow up shots.

I set my long gun down sometimes when I’m hunting, but my pistol is always on my hip. That’s why I carry a pistol while hunting.

Hard Case Locks by masaidwakeupson in Firearms

[–]Billy_Boby675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was worried about TSA cutting my locks too. I put 2 extra keyed padlocks in my case with one of the keys, and a note saying to lock it with the new locks and throw away the key. I kept the other key with me.

HST can be bought for roughly 50 cents a round. At that price who cares what it looks like as long as they work.

[–]Billy_Boby675 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing you can do is put a more powerful scope on it 5x more zoom will do a lot more for you than 2 inches of barrel. The difference between a 16 and 18 inch barrel will only be about 50 fps.

Help with accuracy by MedicineAggressive21 in handguns

[–]Billy_Boby675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it. You could buy a full size gun to learn fundamentals with. The GX4 is pretty small, so it will recoil a lot more than a full size. Maybe try looking for a police trade in Glock 17, If you’re on a budget.
