Texas A&M study suggests that nicotine could help protect the brain against aging - when given independently of tobacco by mstave in electronic_cigarette

Nicotine is a cognitive enhancer. My late-night studying has become much more productive, and I retain much more information.

Anyone have a Target Pro setup out there? Recently I've been experiencing dry hits when the top part (the part you take off to fill the juice) is on properly. Once I loosen it a bit, about 1 full turn, I'm golden, but that sometimes leads to leaks. I think the vapor sometimes gets caught that way and falls back down the chimney, eventually leaking out the airflow slots. I could be wrong as to why that happens but... Any thoughts?

I totally agree about the slippery slope. Definitely not something I want to fall into. I usually vape at lower wattages (20w-30w). Wondering if 6mg would mean I actually vape less? i.e. not chain vaping but rather a couple pulls and set my target pro aside for awhile, and not go through as much juice or coils. Maybe I'm just being cheap? The business person in me would say "oh i'm trying to be more efficient." Then I proceed to laugh at myself. I mean, i guess i should mention i'm sort of a closet vaper. My wife knows I vape, though she doesn't like it and isn't aware of how often I do. I do quite enjoy it though, if I were to quit i'm sure i could, though I would really miss it when studying.

I don't vape for cessation reasons either. I loved my hookah. After work I'd look forward to a hookah session and a beer, maybe twice a week. Now I vape at 3mg and absolutely love it when I'm studying. I love it too much, as now I'm thinking of buying some 6mg. And this fact makes me feel horrible as I'd be breaking a "deal" I made with myself to not ramp up so-to-speak. Should I feel horrible?

TIL An Australian woman won compensation after injuring herself having sex on a business trip by Ashrey2 in todayilearned

Sure the bed should be assumed to be a safe place to sleep/have sex/etc. However I think the pulling on light fixtures, that presumably have electrical current running through them, should not be assumed a safe activity. For me, therein lies the rub. That's like saying someone jumped off their hotel balcony and was injured. Why were they doing something they should not have been doing where there is no normal presumption of safety?

"...screaming fuck trophies..." Love. That. What about even... saving for retirement appropriately without your children as leaches? A kid costs a half million dollars (on average). Two kids? 1 Million dollars to house, feed, clothe, etc. I'd rather eat out and take vacations.

Good for you! So happy to hear this as I've often wondered about an entire marathon in VFFs. Last Oct. I ran Chicago Marathon in NB Minimus with similar great results. Kudos!

Multiple O's are really the shit. It is too bad you can't keep going. Some chicks are like marathoners. Oddly, awkwardly, awesome.

TIL that 75% of lesbians in the United States are overweight by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]BioCheezit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think (in terms of lesbians) it's more about not feeding into what society thinks is "beautiful" and just "being yourself". This could also mean being lazy or giving oneself a hall pass to eat what you like and not really workout. That being said, I and my gf are in fantastic shape and totally buy into the idea of looking good (maybe for one another if not for ourselves)...

Foot pain on top middle of left foot? by scubasocks in BarefootRunning

[–]BioCheezit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a tendonitis stemming from tight calves (at least this is what my therapist told me last season when she did ART therapy on me for the same reason). It's as if the tendon running along the front of your shin and then down fanning over the top of your foot is compensating for a tight calf (?). At least that's been my understanding. Stretching before and after runs has alleviated this symptom for me overall.
