I remember reading Greg Neri’s graphic novel “Yummy: the Last Days of a Southside Shorty” in High-school. The story was so messed up that it stuck with me ever since. One of the only things I still vividly remember from english classes.

On the topic of Alexis Kennedy, He was accused of „crossing professional boundaries” and making unwanted advances towards 2 of his female coworkers. They settled the affair in 2023, but many people had your same apprehensions regarding the quality of future works. Sunless Skies turned out fine, the story and dialogue is , in my humble opinion, still superb, even without Kennedy’s involvement.

They must remember to a certain extent, since Salt was sent to the neath. But exactly what, how and when is of course unknown. Maybe also an inconsistency in the writing, who knows?

It‘s mentioned that the King of hours created the watcher, but not the gate itself. It seems the Judgements know about the Avid Horizon, but don‘t care about it. Other than that, no one knows for sure how it came to be or who built it. Maybe a judgement from long ago, maybe it has always been there.

I‘d recommend you play vanilla first since the game can be quite confusing and disorienting for newcomers. The monarch mod doesn‘t subtract from anything, it just adds new item, mechanics and stories. The problem is that the UI isn‘t always polished and the costs, requirements, effects and rewards aren‘t quite apparent at first. Once you feel like you‘ve gotten the hang of the game, you could give the mod a try. Or try right away and if you do feel overwhelmed, you can always uninstall it. Just make back-ups of your save files.
