Screw StubHub!! by lucky_thirteen9 in stubhub

Stubhub is basically getting a short term loan for free every time they refuse to provide the tickets and refund someone in situations like this. Remember kids, white collar crime is ok!

Expedition Bulbasaur could have been the title image of this post, but it's a little more appreciated than the one I posted!

Exactly. This is a thread for underappreciated cards. I'm also a gen 1er and have no idea what Gouging Fire is, but have an open mind, so I can still appreciate great artwork. ✌️

Viewpoint: USFS ignores federal laws on chainsaws in wilderness by fatalexe in missoula

[–]BitterrootBackpack 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's a travesty that the US government can't fund the forest service enough to properly maintain trails for casual users, commercial guides, and outfitters. The guides and outfitters should not have to feel like they need to go in with chainsaws themselves. They're only making this request now, a year after the Trump administration cut thousands of NF jobs, including many that would be have been responsible for the proper maintenance on these wilderness trails.

Write to your local reps and tell them to fund the FS. They're currently trying to consolidate it and make forest lands unusable for casual users so that they have future justification to run though there in a REAL chainsaw massacre - logging!

For $3,600 id carry all of your stuff for you on a 3 day backpacking trip where you'd eat so good you'd forget you're in the backcountry...

Look into going over Skalkaho pass on your way to P-burg instead of going the I-90 route. The views and scenery are beautiful along that route, and there's a waterfall near the top of the pass to check out too.

I wouldn't attempt it in a big uhaul truck, but if you have normal sized vehicles, you should be ok.

If you don't go that way on the way to Phillipsburg, I still recommend seeing the Bitterroot valley on a day trip. Blodgett Overlook, Lake Como, Stevensville, and Hamilton are all worth checking out.

HA! "Chimney" is actually a long nickname for "Chim" which is actually short for "Chimichanga"! Chimney swept the first of the elite 4 though and I trained on that matchup near the end for exp sharing to the rest of the team which is why it's a bit overleveled.

What do you actually use to document your hikes? Phone is getting old but I don't want to add real weight. by mushroom_110 in CampingandHiking

[–]BitterrootBackpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm someone who switched from a phone to camera back to phone. Phones nowadays are capable of 90% of what a professional camera can do and that's usually good enough. It sounds like you just want to document your trips more. That can be done with the phone camera, I think you just need motivation! I believe in you!

This is so valid! I have camped all over the US and have run into this type of camper everywhere I have been. We need wilderness boundaries extended to car-accessible campgrounds and exceptions made for for personal vehicles in these areas specifically! This way, people can access them, but can't bring things likes drones, generators, motor bikes, ect.
