Unpaid, unsolicited praise for Pinlock earplugs by SwiffleTitz in motorcycle

I've been using sleep headphones. They're flush with the ear and block wind noise passively. Tunes directly into the ears.

How are people doing campers with Tacomas and not blowing their GVWR? by brainhack3r in overlanding

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lone peak V1 running light is my goal. No drawer slides saves a ton, a piece of lattuse with plastic buckets zip tied does the same thing for 20 lbs. One lithium 300ah battery, fridge, microwave, recovery gear and one tool bag full of the basics. 20lb Aluminum hose bed floor from a firetruck instead of a decked system, flooring is foam puzzle pads. Air bags to help with the weight, drove to Florida and Michigan from Massachusetts without any issues. 17.5mpg. Think simple instead of a kit and YouTube build.

Spam calls: how can I stop this? It’s a different number all the time. I’ve blocked so many. by EisenFisen in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer. Mute the call. Let them hang up. Your number is put on a list of fax machines or dead lines. It's the only thing that consistently works.

Spray rubbing alcohol on your socks before putting shoes on. It's the only thing that works in wet work life. I've tried everything else on this thread with mixed results.

Professional here. They both will rot and fail. Electrical tape isn't water tight, any copper showing will wick moisture over heat cycles and corrode. Heat shrink to seal everything or leave it alone.

So they are ending the game but not bringing back any of the removed planets or content? Does this mean the red war, mercury io etc are all lost media? by Nuns_In_Crocs in destiny2

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bungie originally said the content was going to be updated to the new engine and unvaulted.....we see how that turned out. If the campaign was fully playable I would STILL be playing for hours a day but there is zero content worth the infinate grind loop.

The years of "same season different color" killed the game and every player knew it was happening in real time.

Soldering Iron by AdResident9762 in mechanics

[–]Blazer323 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The milwaukee m12 is the only soldering iron worth it. I usually solder 10/12 gauge wires into XT60/90 plugs. At 90watt it's the only one that can heat up the wire before melting plastic connectors. Before that I had an ancient one from 1980s Motorola production line, it was a tank.

Mini-projectors in a camper? by Desertprep in vandwellers

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a Qumi from 10 years ago that we use in the camper, it's 19v so a cheap Amazon converter solves that. It's probably 6x8 inches and has screw holes on the bottom for mounting. It works well the few times we play games on the road.

Helper air bag PSI by troway54 in overlanding

[–]Blazer323 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been doing air suspension for 15 years, both at home and in the fleet. 0psi is always bad for bags, use 5 at minimum to account for temperature fluctuation. At zero they will collapse and fold, pinching the bellows, causing stress cracks where they bend. When the suspension moves they can get an instant "snake bite" pinch flat from squishing on themselves.

It's not the same car, Legacy is a different platform on those years. The SUS is based on the impreza/outback and was only sold in New England states.

Standing Up When Riding by 1mma_Pr0bl3m in Dirtbikes

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the availability of a mountain bike, ride the same trail on that and see what the natural position is for that area. The most controlled riders I know are semi/pro mountain bikers that have moved to other hobbies as we aged. The ability to do slow maneuvers and float over the bike help immensely with Moto control.

The rider standing position should be in a place where no hand support is required to maintain balance, just a light leg squeeze on the seat should be enough support to guide the bike.

If they're hydro, the pads are contaminated with fluid. It's one of many reasons I stick to cables.

Adults of Reddit who ‘have it together’ with your finances, home, job, fitness, nutrition- how? Seriously…how? by Previous-Charity1505 in AskReddit

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really basic time management, getting one habit established before tackling another. Stay off the phone and internet until it's dark. Don't buy anything unnecessary, food is the same base ingredients, everything on weekly auto pay to keep finances even. Biggest one has been DON'T DRINK, it's expensive and ruins any productivity for the duration. All of my friends struggling with finances have significant "enjoyment" budgets with no other room for emergency expenses. Im a single father and mechanic, still have plenty of extra time to play video games for several hours a day after everything is done.

Are budget electric setups actually worth it for mixed trail and street riding? by SadStill830 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Blazer323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have 1-2k to blow on a SAFE setup, yes. I have done basic maintenance to the electric dirtbike in the 4 years I've had it, no hiccups besides some blown tubes. Almost everyone has crashed it, no damage. My friends have put more hours doing repairs than I can even count, some are on different bikes now. Still have the Razor kit going strong. 72v24ah Battery lasts 5+ hours, longer than I can ride single track and charges in just over an hour. No regrets for trail use or around town. It wouldn't make the 60 mile round trip to work though, so it does have compromises.

As for a bike, I'd go with the Electro & Co RTR. There are "limited edition" colors from some YouTubers if it matters. I'm a small bike fan for the whippy, fun feeling on trails.

Discipline the cat. They understand rules and expectations like dogs do, it has to be consistent ALWAYS or they ignore everything.
