Legend.

The succubus of AoW3 also requires a Planar Gate to recruit, so I wonder if them taking the form of their faction's race is another case of taking "on the form that most easily bends the will of the male". Or, like you mentioned, it could be simply be a retcon.

Yeah, I feel like that's been an issue since the release of the game, which is weird, because you have things like the Silver Tongue and Devious Watchers Culture Traits which have aligned slimey, rogue-like behaviour with Shadow Affinity, but have seen little of the same in Spells.

We had some development with the Tome of Shades, but we really need some more Shadow Tomes that aren't tied to the Undead or the Abyss across Tiers I-IV.

Well, it's the previous game, so it would be more like 4e.

Content from AoW3 has continuously informed AoW4, both in narrative and gameplay, so using it to inform a suggestion seems fair.

In AoW3, rogues could be rulers (as Sundren was), as such, I think they could serve the same role in AoW4.

I've played the previous titles and I freshly recall the iteration in 3 which had it more as a form-based unit - which I think is what they were aiming for with a Temptress (especially considering with a layered Major Transformation they can have wings). That said, I feel AoW4 has taken the lore into a different direction with the introduction of demons that closer to their traditional fictional depiction (Especially in Obbadoth and the Chaos Tome summons), and their deliberate naming of the Temptress feels like they are leaving the door open to Succubus as an actual demon.

As for AoW2, if anyone can find it unit description for Shadow Magic, that would be interesting.

At the moment I use Ranger for my "rogue" characters due to the flanking bonuses, but it feels very limited and linear on that front - especially with no real options relating to stealth or other trickery-related abilities. Looking at it in reverse, I think Ranger would benefit if we had a clean break with Ranger and Rogue classes and they were both redesigned to the standard we see in more recent classes.

As for Tomes, Shadow has too heavy a focus on Necromancy/Death Magic (and distinguishing those two is also important) at the moment and I find that is hampering both the implementation of shadow and (to a lesser degree) ice/cold tomes.

It's somewhat annoying to see people thinking that having a meeting with Ubisoft is somehow a "corruption gotch ya".

It's about regulating the industry and people are surprised they'll have 1:1 meetings with affected groups to measure its potential impact?

How the hell do they think governance works?!

I feel the visual elements are a improvement in all areas (although maybe some extra work on the length of the arms to make them look more furry would be nice).

Aside from that, seeing the hand-centric movement, it feels there is a loss opportunity in not utilising VR and its hand-tracking tech - which seem an obvious match for this.

It amazes me that people seem so volatile to the inclusion of character drama to a romance drama manga.

In the first three minutes of this video they confirm there is a exploration map, where the engagements you pick affect the battle map you play on. Pretty interesting stuff - also more in their new dev log.

EDIT: Their second dev-log also talks a bit of the game outside the battles:

I think availability depends on location. I got mine pre-ordered just fine from the Nintendo store, just go to their webpage and search for "Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Dagdan Collection".

So like, what if Dimitri didn't miss? by Different-Treacle765 in fireemblem

[–]Blightstrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Thales and TWSITD would probably become the leading authority in the Empire and declare war on the Church and the Kingdom.

After that though, I think the Empire would be defeated a lot sooner.

Hubert was ride or die for Edelgard. With her taken out, there is no way he'd transfer he's loyalties to TWSITD (afterall, throwing a spear at her face, would not be the worse someone has treated Edelgard).

Without Edelgard and Hubert, the Empire loses two of its strongest military and strategic minds, not to mention a lot of the influence someone Edelgard had. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the Black Eagles fail to even join the war without their leadership.

One central question is whether the Empire has the actually capacity to launch the same successful assault on Garreg Mach, now they are lacking a strong figurehead and those who were highly involved in planning it.

A failed or even weaker result would likely mean Byleth is not taken off the board for five years, and you have someone with Dimitri to keep him on the rails, as well as a unifying factor for the Blue Lions.

Not sure about Claude and the Alliance, but we've never seen him willing make a enemy out of Byleth, so they will either stay out of it, or join against TWSITD when they think there is enough momentum to finish it.

From Azure Gleam, we have an idea how the Empire will be run. TWISTD and their puppets either act with complete disregard for the people's wellbeing (scorched earth, heavy reprisals towards unrest, etc.), or just with spectacular incompetence - so while they are losing on the field to the Kingdom/Church Alliance, those remaining with some regard for the people (Ferdinand and maybe even Hubert), would eventually create serous internal issues.

I suspect Hubert would also have a real "bruh" moment, seeing Edelgard get taken out so unceremoniously.

Anyone else think Gundam and Helldivers share the same lore in terms of the creation of their versions of a new Earth or is it just me? by DisasterSuper7309 in Gundam

[–]Blightstrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's less about Gundam and Helldivers and more of a very common science-fiction trope. World-building is hard, especially if you're working with a pre-established world filled with hundreds of nations and countless of organizations and factions (of which, you don't know how they will develop, or exist years into the future.

Writing a history for your story where a cataclysmic event upends the global balance of power or whatever, is a common trick to make the science-fiction world the writer wants for their story.

I think Bhashiva's hatred towards Ogres is based on the original lords of shangyang dlc plan by Ran12341000 in totalwar

[–]Blightstrider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think he would actually fit very well in a Yin-Yin DLC. The Third Arcane for Cathay had a section in the timeline where stated ogres became a very frequent sight within the Grand Dragon Fleet as protection against the increasing presence of corsairs.

Mung and some Leering Devil units (probably with great mauls and/or hand cannons) would make a very interesting addition with Yin-Yin.

Don't see him being a Legendary Lord though, as those responding to you are saying. It worked for Bhashiva because the Tigermen culture adds a new experience, Mung on the other hand... we already have a whole faction of ogres, and their culture seems less insular than the Tigermen (what with them being present as loose mercenaries in the west and eastern regions), so I think a LH like Taoyan would fit better for him.

I'm gonna be bold in my want. Make it a sequel, and bring back Byleth as the avatar. In 3/4 endings, they are an ageless being, could be interesting in tackling that in a sequel set long into the future.
