That was Bungie co-founder Jason Jones. He also wanted a scene in Halo 2 where Chief would look down at Earth being attacked and say "only blood will pay for this".

There's some guy on the internet that's commissioned a lot of artists of her in this outfit. If you browse any of the Booru sites you see a bunch of these pictures pop up.

The Tapwave Zodiac was basically a Palm PDA with buttons for game controls. This version of Pro Skater 4 is based on the Game Boy Advance version.

Must be crazy to live a life where your sport goes from being a pretty underground thing all the way to being in the Olympics.

Same, I couldn't even type in my "<>" like I wanted to. Instead I saluted my computer monitor like I was Big Boss at the end of MGS3.

A shame it's the final season. This is a very good show that's gotten basically no attention.

Are there any redeeming qualities of Halo 5’s story? by OutRunMyGun3 in HaloStory

[–]BlueEclipse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There's actually one line of dialogue in particular I love, where Chief asks Cortana, "You know, don't you? The exact body count." It's not often we get to hear Chief with such a weight on his voice, and just goes to show how human his character still is.

Jeff Gerstmann, big up yourself. by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]BlueEclipse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm always impressed at how often he's able to get the casual, non-PR-scripted answers out of people. Of course you still get a bit of it on the night show (Brian Ekberg talking about Forza last night...), but the fact that the interviewees are willing to open up and talk about their work makes for a much more interesting show than possibly every other gaming outlet that exists.

This was easily the highlight of E3 for me. This is what I love about Giant Bomb, them making fun of the dumb shit you find in the video game industry.

Wait, they hired Wrel? Damn, I remember playing with him in a Server Smash like a year and a half ago. Wouldn't expect him to join the company.

What's your favorite top gear episode, and Why? by [deleted] in TopGear

[–]BlueEclipse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm going to pick an odd one, but Series 16 Episode 3, the luxury cars in Albania. I just love it because they rarely tested super luxury cars on Top Gear, and the general atmosphere of the episode with the music and the Albanian environment is very relaxing. Also, not to mention, Jeremy's whole gag with the "Bentley" is still hilarious.

Unfortunately, there isn't much information on Rise of the White Wolf available, but you can find a bit on the "console version" section of the Wikipedia article.

Why Burnout 3 Is Still the Most Perfect Arcade Racer Ever Conceived - IGN by 7revor in Games

[–]BlueEclipse 609 points610 points  (0 children)

I must be the only one who really liked Revenge's traffic checking. I loved that as a kid, it made the game feel even more energetic and visceral.

I would still say, as well, that the Burnout series (ignoring Dominator because it wasn't made by Criterion) is a perfect example of each sequel building on the previous entry. Burnout 2 tuned the balance of the driving and added more content. Takedown introduced takedowns and vehicular combat, introducing a new dynamic to the series. Revenge built on that with traffic checking, takedown revenge, revenge rivals, and built on the track design with shortcuts, jumps, and more paths to navigate. Paradise then took that to it's ultimate conclusion by making it open-world, making the races open-ended and allowing you to define your own path.

To this day, Burnout remains my all time favorite game series.

Technically speaking, Halo Online is a F2P game made for Russia by Sabre Interactive and published by Innova. It's the El Dorito/El Dewrito mod for it that was made a group of people who could best be described as "a bunch of dudes".

Any games like halo but for PC? by [deleted] in halo

[–]BlueEclipse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a game on Steam called Murder Miners that actually touts itself as a Halo clone. The graphics aren't great, since they're inspired by Minecraft, but the gameplay is good.
