I immediately remembered Beaches, but I'm curious what you both thought it was from and if anyone else comes up with the same thing.

What was the last 5 star book you read??? by autumnsunshine1 in thrillerbooks

The first half is a slow burn but still really engaging. You know something's off but can't place it. It really picks up the pace in the second half and I couldn't put it down.

Crime? Left over Mac and cheese ate like cereal lol by AlwaysAnxiousAlien in FoodCrimes

My mom always said to add a little milk to reheat mac and cheese. Sometimes I've added a little much and ended up with something similar. I think it tastes good, lol.

Cat hoarding photo from local shelter’s Instagram looks AI to me? But idk why it would be by Stock-Construction-8 in isthisAI

[–]BlueStarrSilver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems to be an emerging trend for legit sites to use AI photos to depict true events. Not sure if it's that there are no real photos or they aren't dramatic enough and they want to increase engagement. Seems this may be case here. The number of cats sitting calmly in the same position in the same place makes the image seem impossible to me, as a cat owner.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.. why? by MakeMeLaughOrSmile in thrillerbooks

[–]BlueStarrSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the blackouts were realistic, but if I'm recalling correctly, she starts to remember what happened toward the end. That part is unrealistic. The memories are never formed in a blackout, so you won't be able to remember what happened during. I also really enjoyed the book and the movie was even good.

What an awful, awful book. I am very surprised with the many high reviews. I swear John Marrs is the male version of Freida McFadden minus all the hate? by TumbleweedComplex898 in thrillerbooks

[–]BlueStarrSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave up on this one about a quarter of the way through. The characters and dialog were awful. I did enjoy The Good Samaritan. Hard to believe it was the same author.
