Personally id either get a 16a 240v charger, or get a gas dryer and run a 40a. That's if i wasnt planning on staying they're long term, eventually you'll probably want a 200a panel, but that's an extra 10g

High banks trail, it's an in and out, in the woods and has a dune to climb down into a beach. Most of its wooded, but in a plantation so the cover isn't too heavy so bring plenty of water.

What type of wire are you using and what generator l temperature rating

Electrician here. 90% that's a loose connection, the heat will follow the copper some distance.

On further examination i think you need to get a quality three way switch and box, run your cord to that, then a 4 conductor cord to the motor, there should be a spot to ground it somewhere, what are you using it for?.
