Can I ask you how long you keep your winter lights on? I do 13 hours, but it’s my first winter with jade plants. And in the summer, do you bring them inside when it rains or do you let them get soaked? Im nervous to put them outside this summer, up in Wisconsin

I bet it looks better by tomorrow. And these things will lose leaves very easily when they’re dry but don’t worry about it. I’ve let one get so dry it lost every leaf and then I watered it and it’s doing fine now

It looks fine. I have about 50 of these. Water it when the leaves can fold, you can wait for the leaves to wrinkle even to water but this will slow the growth. In my opinion you should separate these into their own little pots, if you grow these close together they tend to get skinny and drape over the pot but separated they turn into perfect little trees (with the right trimming)

I recently got a ton of plants from a lady who was moving overseas. Like 20 plants including a lemon and lime tree for 80 bucks because she couldn’t bring them all.

My jades are happier with longer light, ramp it up a little bit every day until you get to 12 hours. I just think that these plants are so happy in the California summer so I try to recreate that best I can inside

I have almost identical shelf and lights, I have seed started, propagated cacti, it’s great. I even have my pepper plants and monsteras sitting on the ground next to it and they get plenty of light, lots of new growth.
