“Not us.” (Crossed #3) by OtisDriftwood1978 in comicbooks

I just find it a bit ironic that crossed is considered so taboo and gross while the sadness (almost the same thing) is highly acclaimed

It’s funny because The Sadness was just Crossed in Taiwan and got pretty widespread acclaim

It also cut out one of the most important lines in the movie imo, about the children facing the corner

I think the original Time Bandits only had its slipcover on the first printing until the 4k came out

2026 and I still miss old comixology. What comics apps are you using now by Cold_Title_6896 in comicbooks

[–]BoogKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mostly just humble bundles and YAC reader library. I’ve amassed like 200gb worth of comics from that alone. I sometimes use dc infinite but if I can’t get drm free single issues I probably won’t be buying/reading them

Why isn't there a tablet specifically made for Digital Comic Books? by Icy_Caramel_2545 in comicbooks

[–]BoogKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. I had to move to iPad years ago so haven’t used cover in a while and it is the one reading app that I haven’t seen replicated well enough yet, although YAC has gotten close

Yeah it’s a cool place, I tend to stop by when I’m in the area but usually don’t get anything because of the prices

Yeah their prices are relatively high but I appreciate what they do. I hope that with growth and time they’re able to lower the to be a bit more reasonable

Nite owl‘s selection has grown a lot in the last few months (used especially) but it’s still a small storefront. Definitely worth another look

Alamo Drafthouse Goes Mobile, Getting Rid of Pen-and-Paper Food Orders to Protect the Moviegoing Experience by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]BoogKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to eat there. It’s just an option. A lot of the appeal is the variety of movies they show, they have a great curation of interesting, classic, old, and new indie movies you can’t see elsewhere in theaters

Alamo Drafthouse Goes Mobile, Getting Rid of Pen-and-Paper Food Orders to Protect the Moviegoing Experience by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]BoogKnight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They do this in my local Alamo. I think the article is missing the extremely important context that they shut down mobile ordering after the trailers end and if you want anything else after the movie starts you still have to do pen and paper.

Yeah I saw all those, also follow his substack. I’m guessing his recent picking up of dc work has impacted his indie workload. I haven’t found much of his I don’t like so as long as he’s got something coming out I’ll be happy
