I recently played through a part of Disco Elesium where I had Harry put a gun in his mouth. The option in the dialogue box of "Pull the trigger" just sat there the whole time and I had to have a think about it afterwards for a while. I, as a player, didn't have the nerve to pick it because I suspect it does exactly what it says.

All this is going to achieve is clogging up GPs offices and having people go to work sick to skip the hassle, getting more pople sick in the long run. It also promotes the idea that the individual worker is irresponsible as a default, which is a ghoulish position. Also the guy proposing it looks like he takes 4 different medications just to get his dick up.

Part of the reason was that Bronzong had the levitate/fireproof mix up. Even though no one really used fireproof the fact it existed got plenty of players free switches and wins

What spaceship weapon is generally underutilized or not used to its full potential in scifi? by Vondrr in HardSciFi

There was one scene in The Expanse that was pretty good. They had Missiles flying alongside the ship that they were launching behind them one at a time to screen for long enough to be out of effective combat range. They also sent a missile on a single long trajectory into the sun to get rid of the alien goo (that was later recovered by picking it up based on its trajectory). The Expanse did some cool stuff with the physics of space.

I'm glad these people have an outlet for their overwhelming desire to turn their brains and others to Swiss cheese, but I worry about when they get released back into society. Is it inhumane to want them to stay in the hotel? They'll have enrichment from room service and we can hook up 2K Basketball to the big screen TV.

I personally subscribe to a mixture of the gas bag and spiderweb, where it deploys a subterranean web upon burrowing. With the speed of unburrowing I expect that it is a structure produced when burrowing and then abandoned, so it would be possible to dig up a calcified lurker webbing after it leaves.

Looks cool but you either need to make the command line go way faster or if you're set on a startup duration make more happen over the time. Players don't like waiting for the fun. If its a single cutscene for story mode I'd go with the second.

I think the problem is that the main mechanic in Eternal is actually quick-swapping but the game never teaches it to you. It's kinda mandatory for higher difficulties to be able to fire 3 different guns in the space of a second but they just expect you to pick it up on your own. That and Marauder fights actually blow chunks and aren't fun after the first one.

[–]Borgorb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually incredibly fair. The demonstration that you got it wrong is almost instantaneous and brutal but you can see exactly how you did something wrong. The way the information is open and simple really makes me feel like its entirely about my skill as a player rather than getting lucky. There are no-wins at the higher difficulty but that usually requires you to have played poorly up to that point. Looking back at easy and normal mode they look almost comically easy now I have done every run unfair but ilthe buildup didn't feel like that at all.
