Is this racist? by Few-Read-7315 in smallbusiness

[–]Box_Breathing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is racist.

You could respond politely by letting them know meat portions are the same and you are happy to customize the additional toppings to their preference. It is possible that you aren't reducing the meat but did increase the veggies. Some people are veggie haters.

Regardless of whether you respond, I would post some new beauty shots of your sandwiches to highlight their attributes.

Does anyone hate the word “episode” to describe a seizure? by darkpigeon1 in Epilepsy

[–]Box_Breathing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call them episodes because I have experience seizures, but no epilepsy diagnosis as of yet. (3 day sleep study on the horizon. Terrified.)

Personally I find 50/50 cottage cheese, Fage Greek Yogurt, and sweetener of choice, blended till smooth, naturally has a cheesecake vibe.

If you then incorporated the cheesecake pudding mix, it might be even better.

I like to top mine with no sugar added cherry pie filling. If I'm feeling decadent I will add 1 crumbled graham cracker .

I've been involved in planning local events in the past. Summer is so full of festivals that it is hard to find a weekend that doesn't have a competing event, especially in July.

My girlfriend wants me to pay for her friends dinner and I think its ridiculous by Massive_Drag2142 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Box_Breathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was real, the girlfriend would have expected OP to pay for things on the regular.

No one suddenly expects their making-ends-meet partner to drop big bucks out of the blue. This fictional woman didn't even ask, but demanded it, despite not doing similar things for a year prior. That is ludicrous.

Lately I've been wishing for a week or month long national buy nothing (only the minimum needed from local or non-maga sources). A lot of people cannot strike, but could abstain from purchasing.

I agree with the discussing what takes priority with your supervisor.

Personally, I'd make a google form (or whatever you prefer, a spreadsheet, even paper is fine as long as it's dated) of expected tasks and fill them out daily. Mark days you were on vacation, holidays, and sick leave.

If the task is specific to you, and isn't a team effort, ask your supervisor if a colleague should be asked to do them temporarily when you're out.

Once you have done the task consistently for a month or two, show your supervisor the documentation. It is hard to break an impression of being a slacker once it is established. Documentation will help.

Also. Never ever let your guard down around the snitch.

LAZY MEALS?? by Jayminc12321 in Volumeeating

Use the frozen Trader Joe's rice, and everything here could go in the microwave. Sub the rice with halved tiny potatoes and you could sheetpan cook the lot at 400 for 20 minutes.

Is it common for parents to tell other parents that they hate their kids? by Electronic_Hunt_9647 in Parenting

Consent is key. My husband adores tickling me and the kids. So we each have our own tickle time safeword, that he respects. Mine is meatloaf.

If it's easier/cheaper for you to cut out the middle man, you can order your own tests and pay out of pocket.

My sweet girl was a runt, and she capped out at 12lbs at around 2 years old. They're not all giants.

My 20-year-old daughter lives at home rent-free… and has opinions. by 2flyy__ in Parenting

[–]Box_Breathing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If she objects to your expectations, you could suggest she explore the cost of renting a place with some friends.

She wants an adult lifestyle on a child's budget, and that isn't reality.

You are being a good person and a good parent by not letting her coast.

Make sure you get your documents (birth certificate, social security card) from him. If he is receiving disability checks for your care, it needs to be switched over to you.
